I bought one stand to try it out, WOW was i Surprized it held my 20" med Ride cymbal great, with no problems. I loved it so much i bought 5 more. I have not had any problems with any of them.I play all the time. The Value,Quality, and structure of them are GREAT. Also my son plays on my kit to, he plays very Hard Rock drum beats with Double Bass, Hard, Loud, and Fast. For the money you can't go Wrong.

I bought these when I was noob and low on money, so I wasn't exactly out there for heavy duty. I'll say, these were good when I first got them. They held up for a little while and nothing moved - for a little while. Now, a few years later, they're holding on by the simple fact that I haven't fooled with them all that much while I've had them. I've got two, and on one of them I can't make some adjustments because either the thing would break or it's too rigid to move. On the one holding my ride, I've tightened the bolt that holds the boom in place until my hand hurt and it STILL moves back and forth. It also wobbles when I play on ride, and I think if I used the stand for my crash, it would just give up.
Bottom line, if you're really in it to stay, please don't get these. I think if we'd used them in my church or on the road - considering all of the various and frequent adjustments you'd have to make in either circumstance - these stands couldn't withstand it. Go with Pearl if you're looking for something good and PAY SOME MONEY. Nothing is worse than having a stand break on you, especially during performance. Not to mention that once it breaks on you, you'll be crawling back for better hardware. Save yourself the time!!

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:
I got this stand because i added a couple new things to my set and neeed something to attach them to. My hi-hat stand had all it could hold. This is the first item I have purchased from Sound Percussion and I must say, I am very pleased with it. It is very heavy duty and well designed. Built alot like my Pearl hardware. I will definately buy SP gear again. I highly recommend this item. Thanks SP !

Had for a couple of practice sessions now and they are doing well. Their not the heaviest stands but they are pretty sturdy. I'm happy with the stands for the low price

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:
I'm not a drummer. But, I do have a full pearl drum set that I bought used for just having set up at home for when the band gets together to play. It was missing a crash cymbol stand, so I ordered this one up. Much heavier than I thought since it was fairly inexpensive, everything seems top quality, good as the pearl stuff. And now my drum set is complete!

Strong, solid support for my largest cymbal. The
way the boom slids into the stand makes packing easier.

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:
I got a two-pack of these when i upgraded my cymbals two years ago. With all the times they've been dropped and still holding, I had to get another to replace the flimsy little one that came with the kit. Tough, sturdy, balanced, and I'll be upgrading the rest of my hardware with Sound Percussion in the future.
