Keep yourself and your neighbors happy.

Play your drum kit expressively without being loud with Sound Percussion's drum mute set. Fusion Mutes are specifically designed to deliver a great feel, while keeping your practice time quieter.

Most drummers have experienced the problem of noise complaints while practicing in apartments or late at night. Drums are loud and penetrating but Sound Percussion Mutes dampen the sound, yet retain the feel of the drum itself.

The mutes are constructed of an ultrathin material that closely approximates the feel and touch of a stick hitting a drumhead. Immediately, drummers will notice a vast improvement over existing drum mutes and the makeshift use of towels, tape, and blankets. They are a breeze to get up and ready, just place them on the drumheads and cymbals, and play.

The Sound Percussion Fusion Mute Prepack includes: a 22" kick drum mute, 10" tom mute, 12" tom mute, 13" tom mute, two 14" mutes (for floor tom and snare), 16" floor tom mute, plus ride and a hi-hat cymbal mutes.

      Features

      • 22" kick mute
      • 10", 12", and 13" tom mutes
      • 14" floor tom mute
      • 16" floor tom mute
      • 14" snare drum mute
      • A ride mute

These are pretty-well made and give pretty good rebound (5 *'s for quality), but if you really want your set to be almost silent, you really need to buy at least another set of pads for the snare and toms because one pad thickness does not mute them that well. It will get rid of a lot of the noise, but not enough in my opinion. If you double, or even triple-up the pads on the toms, it does a much better job of muting them. The hi-hat is pretty silent (the pad that is for when you open and close the hi-hat was not big enough for my 14" hi-hat, but fortunately I had also bought the Zildjian cymbal pack which did fit) , the ride is harder to mute because of it's size, and the crashes are going to need some extra foam or padding if you want to be able to side-stick them. It would be really nice if Sound Percussion would make pads for the crashes that would completely cover them because the triangle-type things are NOT sufficient unless you are playing REALLY softly. The bass drum mute is pretty good considering how much force is behind the beaters, but it is a little tricky to figure out how to mount it because Sound Percussion gives NO instructions.Overall, these have good potential, but need some tweaking especially for the crashes (I'm going to try to add some egg-crate foam and see if that will help completely mute it.) It would cost more, but the company should just make the pads for the toms 2 or 3 times as thick and make the cymbal pads cover the entire cymbal.

This set is fantastic... for drums. It mutes most of the sound a drum produces, including from the bass, but not completely so you can still get a sonic "feel" for what you're doing. However, the neoprene cymbal mutes WILL DAMAGE YOUR CYMBALS' FINISH. Out of my six cymbals, one has permanent finish damage and my bottom hihat cymbal has some minor dulling. And you don't even have to touch the drumset for this to happen. All in all, good buy, as long as you have another way to mute the cymbals in your kit.

The mutes were shipped quickly. Arrived missing cymbal mutes. I'm guessing they shipped me a "refurbished" unit and didn't check the package. Oh well, still not a bad deal.

        Drum Mutes !!!!

        Great !!!!!
I have 3 children that live at my home these drum mutes are perfect for playing at night when they are asleep. I can practice anytime which is improving my playing very much. The high hat pad is tearing by the edge but it still works great!!!!!!

        Decent alternative

Comments about Sound Percussion Total Drum Set Mute Prepack:

The snare and tom mutes are awesome. Can work around the kit and my girlfriend can hardly hear me from upstairs! The cymbal mutes are another story. They could be made smarter, in that they could reach out all the way to the edges (or make them longer and consumer can trim them). Cymbals still ring quite loudly becasue the mutes are short and do not reach the edge of the cymbals...they would work MUCH BETTER if they did. I ended up cutting pieces of one of the two 14" drum mutes (I only play on a 5pc kit) and looping through a piece of string and 'hanging' it out the the edges of the cymbals...a home-made fix.
The material is top notch! While not the ideal material for practicing rudiments, it is responsive enough for playing grooves on the kit, etc. Again, the cymbal mutes are way inadequate as they are way too small.

        Great

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Sound Percussion Total Drum Set Mute Prepack:

Drum mutes are great - I found the snare drum, even with the snares off, the least muffled, but since the pack comes with 2 14" pads, I just double them up on the snare. And since my hi-hat is 13" and the pads are for 14", my hi-hat is exceedingly muffled (I can barely hear it). Drum mutes are great not just to quiet your practicing and to appease others that have to hear you, they also allow me to hear better more distinctly some things in my drumming, like whether I'm hitting certain limbs at exactly the same time or not. So, I use them not just to be nice to others, but as a learning tool for me too.I couldn't be happier with this product.

        Pretty darn good

        By moldyman

        from Washington

Comments about Sound Percussion Total Drum Set Mute Prepack:

I bought this set at my local Guitar Center about two weeks ago. And they do a phenomenal job of muting the set! They dampen 95% of the sound produced by your kit, enough so you can still hear the tone but not enough to drive anyone crazy even if they can hear you. The crash mutes jump if you hit them hard enough, which can be annoying. And the hihat can be heard quite distinctly. In fact, I'd have to say the hihat is the least muffled out of all the pieces, while the bass drum is the most muffled. All in all, a great product and worth the money!
