Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
Ultimately, my favorite pair of sticks that I've used cost about 4x more a pair than these cost per pair, which is the max amount I've spent on sticks. These sticks, while not inherently bad, are not my ideal pair. As a rock drummer who most often plays songs by Helmet, Foo Fighters and the like, they are slightly lighter than I'd like (which is better than being too heavy) and the shape of the tip is not fully to my liking; excuse my ignorance concerning tip shape descriptions and names but they are more rounded than I prefer. Sort-of like a ball with a point at the end. I prefer a longer oval-shaped tip, but that's personal choice.
Still, I am a hobbyist and only play in garage band settings, so this economical brick of sticks do the trick. There obviously will be better sticks, but I've found that each drumstick is straight and consistent with the others.
At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference in terms of weight and shape. Therefore, the differences between these sticks and the sticks that I have used before are too minimal for a hobbyist like myself to stress about. For me, the price makes up for what I consider flaws.
Pros
- Afforadable
- Great price
- Individually packaged
Cons
- Not My Primary Stick
Best Uses
- Give to friends
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
I was happy to purchase this brick of sticks. I liked the fact they were individually packaged. These are not my primary sticks, but when someone wants a souvenir pair, I'm not giving away my expensive sticks. So, have some in your stick bag to make new friends!
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
The sticks are decent for rehearsals but I wouldn't want to use them for a live performance application. I think the NOVA sticks are a little better for the money.
Birch is not a heavy wood and these feel very light in your hands. Good rehearsal sticks but probably not going to be a staple for performance.
Cheap! Great price for a lot of sticks.
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
Good buy for person who plays to play not plays to pay bills. They do break, but so do the expensive one pair at a time sticks. Perfect stocking stuffer.
If you have a drummer in your life, you can not have enough drumsticks. Great price for a bunch of practice sticks. Good buy.
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
Listen, I'm all about saving money. That's why I bought these! But, after one church service, I had broken two sticks, and I really don't play unreasonably loud. Seriously, save your money and buy something else.
It's a drumstick.
If you play with any volume at all, these will break FAST. If you play cool jazz with 5A's for some reason, you will be ok!
Cheap price for an incredibly cheap product.
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
These are perfect for what I need. I hold the stick upside down in my left hand using the butt end of the stick as the batter. Coupled with a nylon tip 5A in my right hand, these are perfect. Its been 10 years since I last bought sticks. This package will last me another 10 years.
Nice sticks. Only thing better for me is if they were nylon tipped. Otherwise, 5A size is just right.
Haven't played them yet. They seem great.
Got them on special. Can't beat the price!
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
horrible sticks avoid at all costs. "stick" to vic virths or zildjians.!!
i bought these sticks because of the price, let me tell you it was a total waste of money.
they break, chip sand shave off wayyy to easlily, just terrible quality.
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
The price is hard to beat and the lightweight of the sticks makes it easy to get around any kit. The only problem I have is that they break pretty easily, if it wasn't for the price I wouldn't be using these. Overal they're a pretty good stick...wish they came with Nylon tips, though.
Comments about Stagg 12 Pair Birch Drumsticks:
