Comments about Stagg SH Regular Medium Ride Cymbal:
Hello. i was a drummer for 8 years then took 3 years off becasue of military reasons. my styles range from blues, jazz, funk, and alternative. upon my return i recently got back into music. Never heard of the stagg brand. i heard alot of mixed reviews so i decided to try it out for myself. In regards to the ride. for my taste it seems like the sustain is a bit overwhelming and brassy. it sounds like more of a crash ride. i heard the double hammered ride doesnt have that brassy feel? but then again everyone hears things differently. I was pleased with the sound when recording and micd up. but for $60 dollars cheaper i picked up a paiste pst5 22inch rock ride. way happier with the paiste. in conclusion i have other stagg cymbals and i am pleased with the sound and quality. dont let a review discourage you from purchasing anything from stagg. it all depends on your preference. i have both SH and DH lines in some situations i like the SH and in others i use the DH. it's all about your style, genre and technique.
