The Tama CA30EN Cymbal Holder has a pipe diameter of 19.1mm. Use the Tama cymbal holder to connect to stands using either Tama MC61 (440027) or Tama MC62 (449035) clamps, or to a Power Tower rack using a Tama J24 clamp (440414). The cymbal holder's quick-set tilter uses a large multi-disk mechanism that offers more strength, requires less effort, and allows more flexibility than standard toothless tilters.

These are very nice booms. They have really been improved over the years. The friction lock system at the knuckle works great, the boom being able to swing or retract into the arm is a versatile option.
My cymbals hang from the top and the cymbal quick lock (I'm not sure what they call it) holds even an 18" crash from falling to the floor. However, one of the booms I received was put together poorly at the knuckle. It was all there it just took a few minutes to reassemble it to work properly.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Tama's got it right with these amazing cymbal arms.
They are very well built, come with the quick-release Cymbal Mate holders and an end cap for a more refined finish.
To save time and space, the boom slides into the down rod (this is basically the same top that is used in Tama's "Road Pro" boom cymbal stands).
The infinitely variable adjustment on the cymbal head makes it possible to position the cymbal perfectly every single time.
The only "bad" thing is that there is no size in between this arm and the "long" version, and some may find this one to be a bit short (whereas the long arm is REALLY long). I have both the short and long versions.
But overall, it's one of my favorite pieces of hardware because it makes life easy, so much so that I now own 6 of these.

Until now...I ordered two as replacements for my very old boom arms. These showed up with the newer quick release tops! set and forget! great function, solid, just what the kit needed!

I'm not really a rack kinda guy so I got a 3-hole multi-clamp to turn one of my stands into three and this was a great choice. It holds my heavy 19" crash with no problem and I currently have my 18" china on it. The toothless tilter holds strong. Also, I like the felts it came with also, other stands of lower price usually have flimsy felts and I could never get my china to sit just right. This won't disappoint, I'm already looking to get the long version of this to replace a straight cymbal holder! Tama is just the way to go for quality hardware at a fair price.

This is essentially the top tier of the Tama RoadPro Boom cymbal stands. I don't own this cymbal holder, but I do own 4 RoadPro cymbal stands. Based on those, this is an amazing piece of hardware. The Quickset Tilter is a joy to use, though it takes a bit of time to get the cymbal completely flat. The Cymbal M8 wingnut on top is SO much better than a traditional wingnut. The felts are thick and durable. The reversible cymbal sleeve is very helpful! It fits perfectly in the Tama MC61 clamp; pick that up while you're at it. All in all, it's a great piece of hardware, I would recommend it to anyone looking to mount another cymbal.
