OVERVIEW

Keep time with this timeless pedal!

The Camco 6735 Chain-Drive Pedal is identical to the old original Camco chain pedal, a favorite among many players. The chain pedal has action that's among the smoothest of any pedal ever made, primarily because constant movement is always applied to the beater.

Precision Balance
The weight of the beater, footboard and sprocket are carefully balanced to deliver the maximum sensitivity.

Nylon Spring Bushing
The nylon bushing eliminates squeaking instantly.

Chain Guard
Tama's new chain guard keeps the chain on the sprocket no matter how fast you play.

Simple Chain Replacement
The chain is easily field replaceable as an assembly.

Chain Length adjustment
A simple chain length adjustment varies the footboard angle.

Beater Angle Adjustment
The spring fulcrum point can easily be changed to adjust the beater stroke angle.

Performance-proven quality and performance.

I had read where another drummer switched to this pedal after using a DW 5000 for years. That fits my description and I also switched to this pedal. I noticed the difference immediately. The pedal is very smooth and playing the bass drum is effortless. Hard to describe, but I seem to feel the kick drum much better and I really don't notice the pedal. If that makes sense to you, then do not delay buy it now! The bottom line is function.

Sorry to say this pedal was a disappointment to me. Where the chain meets the sprocket is VERY LOUD! The original version of this pedal did not do this. I attempted adjusting the alignment by sliding the sprocket back and forth, making sure the travel of the chain was perfectly straight, but it still is very noisy. It can be heard while my kit was played from all angles. It also high pitched too, adding to the annoyance !!!!

I have 25 years experience. I hope this is helpful, for a little more money there are much better pedals out there.

Musicians Friend Customer Service did right by me with a easy painless return.

Bought this as a backup for my DW 5000 Delta. Now my DW is the backup - nuff said. Sometimes simplicity is all you need. I can only imagine how good the original was; gonna try and get one off ebay, but this reissue is the real deal. Can't believe it's 60 bucks!

Comments about Tama Camco Single Pedal:

This is one of the best pedals ever made. VERY SMOOTH ACTION. I also own the Tama pedal that was marketed right after this one - very close in design, but with a larger footboard. I have tried just about every pedal out there. This one, and my other Tama are simply the best. I have been an active drummer for 44+ years now.

I filled in for a drummer who got I'll during a gig. As I started to play I noticed how nice and smooth and powerful the kick pedal was. My pedal work became effortless. I wasn't concentrating on the pedal it was just flowing out my foot to the drum. It was a Camco 30 yr old pedal! I purchased one immediately. It is a pedal you can't go wrong with! It is no surprize it was re-issued.
              It is truely a classic!

Comments about Tama Camco Single Pedal:

This reissue is not an exact replica of the much revered old pedal. I was very disappointed to find that this reissue has nowhere near the smooth action and silent operation of my vintage version of this pedal. The pedal comes with a login to a Tama "User Exclusive Web Site", wherein I was again very disappointed to read that their engineers decided to make some "improvements" to the old design. Well, there's an old saying that applies here, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Comments about Tama Camco Single Pedal:

I played this pedal many years ago and although I have multiple pedals, I had to get this classic pedal. The new release is just as good as the old Camco pedals. The action is like "Butta" very smooth. The price that musician friend has for this pedal makes this a buy that can't be passed up!

When you play the Camco pedal you do not have to think about it, you just play it! Great tension, perfect beater balance and tone. I played a 30 yrold one and had to buy the reissue, it is really that good. The friendly feel of this pedal is what a great kick drum pedal is all about. DW also has the rights to this pedal and for a lot more money! It is an impressive design that becomes an extension of your body! I have the beater hitting about 1.5" higher than the middle of the drum. At [$] it is a steal!

Comments about Tama Camco Single Pedal:

As good as they get. An actual Best Buy!
I have owned many pedals ranging from old timers (Ghost and Speed Kings) to DW pedals.
While I have no dislike for the others, the Camco is, hands down, the king of all pedals.
Do not let the slight appearence fool you, I play hard and heavy using my legs, not my ankles, to drive my kicks and have never broke one of these.

The action is quick and extermely controllable.
Kick quads are easily thumped out and the reflex is outstanding.
Although I replace the felt with wood beaters, and use Danmar Pads for the "Click" punch.
Rock Solid despite, again, the seemingly light build.
I cannot recommend these enough. Fantastic.
