If you are considering this, BUY IT!! After 25 years on a standard tama throne, this thing is heaven! It hurts in expense, but you will soon forget all about it. The double braced legs, the locking tooth ring, the polish, the seat covering, the foam, the nylon the stitching, ALL PERFECT! The cushion is formed so my skinny bony butt doesnt get sore spots. The angle of the seat is perfect from day one. Ive now after 25 years, raised my drums a tad and this seat feels like its increased my speed around all the corners of my kit. Finding that speed double bass balance (u know what i mean), was instant and comfy. Im still astounded by my increased foot speed and hand control. Cant explain it, but TAMA has by money for stands and seats forever.. Now if only I can get used to my chair having a front to it.

I bought this seat because it was a "wide" style seat. I'm a pretty big guy (6'2" 235lbs) and in about an hour, the seat began to squeak as I moved on it while playing. I made sure a screws and nut and clamps were tight, and it still squeaked. It is very comfortable, but the squeaking is annoying.

Great thone.Tama rocks! Though a little bit heavy, in case you travel a lot (my favorite "small" throne is the Pearl D1000S).

Comments about Tama HT730 Ergo-Rider Drum Throne:
After playing 20 years using average at best drum thrones I finally bought this quality throne. I was apprehensive at first but after trying it out and comparing it to others, I purchased this throne and it was well worth it. It's a very comfortable throne and has a wide stable seat. I like the hybrid look, part saddle seat and part round seat and I didn't believe at first that my double kick drum playing would improve because of a drum throne, that didn't make sense to me, but it actually does help so the advertising is true about this throne! I was able to play faster and more even 16th notes using double kick pedals and I didn't change anything other than my throne, so either I miraculously improved in one night or the throne has something to do with it. I think it was the latter! This Tama throne is very easy to adjust, it's simply a well thought out durable throne and base. One of the best I believe offered from any company and less expensive than many others that aren't as good or any better. I've made terrible decisions the past 20 years in regard to buying drum items, fortunately buying this throne wasn't one of them!
Comments about Tama HT730 Ergo-Rider Drum Throne:
I've never owned a quality throne, though every drummer I've ever spoken to has said it's the most important thing we can get -- IT'S TRUE! The seat itself is remarkably comfortable and provides great support without leaving your muscles sore. I understand the throne was redesigned regarding the hardware, and I've played about 5 shows with it so far -- my only negative comment is it's rather expensive for what's essentailly metal and padding. It's a great looking throne, though!
Comments about Tama HT730 Ergo-Rider Drum Throne:
I bought this throne while purchasing some sticks and skins. Got it home and set it up to play (I was playing on an overturned 5 gal. bucket with a pillow on it before hand). Shortly after having it I noticed the bottom connectors from the legs to the center bar had fallen off! So now that connector is being held in place by some string I had laying around... The seat also wobbles around and doesn't allow for left and right motion (doesn't swivel). I don't see the need for the screw action for raising and lowering the seat. Pneumatic control is where it's at, bar none.
Comments about Tama HT730 Ergo-Rider Drum Throne:
When my stock throne snapped in half (okay, so I'm a bit heavy) after 4 years, I needed a new throne. I found this online and decided to order it. This is the most comfortable throne, let alone seat, I've ever sat in. The hybrid feel is like nothing you've ever drummed in. Tama just won my heart again.BUY THIS SEAT!
Comments about Tama HT730 Ergo-Rider Drum Throne:
I was first attracted to this throne by the ad's that claimed it was a back saver, and indeed it is. The cushion on the seat is thick and comfy, I have longer legs and use alot of double kick so this throne helps me from wearing out. Only bad thing is that the bottom of the stand broke and it starts to shake, I think for the price the actual stand could have been better. But overall a good quality comfortable throne.
Comments about Tama HT730 Ergo-Rider Drum Throne:
I have had this throne for about 2 years and I'll start with looks: I got the one with the embroidered Tama tribal on the back of the seat...looks incredible. I am mad that part faces the back wall, because it looks so freakin' cool. Durability: It lasted about 2 years - close to 50 gigs, plus practices, studio and transporting it everywhere, so not bad (I baby my gear, too). I don't know how these things wear out, but they do. The seat is sturdy. It has just enough padding to where you are stable, yet comfortable. I have sat through 6 hr. sessions and 3 hr. gigs and never came close to feeling sore in the back or hind-end. It doesn't transport very well. I couldn't fit it in any of my hardware bags or drum cases. The seat's the size of a large pizza. Maybe this is why mine is wearing down. Basically, the center pole has come loose and falls out (away from the seat's direction, out the bottom). This makes the whole thing wobble and become a little distracting. So, I am gonna try a Pork Pie seat next...This thing still works fine, I just have to adjust it every now and then. Height-wise, I think anyone could feel good on it. I am 6'2" 230lbs. and it had plenty of height and support. Adjusting it is weird - you have to spin a little plastic lock that looks like a gear, then untighten the wing nut, adjust the height, tighten the wing nut and spin the lock back down. Lot of work. Not a big deal unless you need a quick fix at the gig in between songs. And if you are in my band, down-time doesn't exist on stage. Definitely a good buy, overall. Only gave it 9's for the adjustment procedure and hard to transport. Otherwise a 10!
Comments about Tama HT730 Ergo-Rider Drum Throne:
I receicved this throne as a gift. I thought it was wonderful at first but through out the days I've had it, it started to fall apart. I recomend this seat to someone who has a very small set. likes a hard cushion, and also to people who like fixing things every time you try it.
