Comments about Tama Rack Clamp:
I have a vintage Tama Cage rack system with many of these clamps (probably 30). I bought this new in '87. Over all the years of gigging and practicing I've only broken one clamp. It's worth noting that I do not totally disassemble the rack when I move it. I leave it in sections (with instruments removed). However for years I played Showcase gigs where we had to move the kit on and off the stage in a timely fashion. I would plug in all the rack mounted drums and cymbals off stage and recruit 4-5 roadies and/or band members to lift it on and off the stage, all putting tremendous stress on these clamps. I do have a couple of criticisms. The rack side of the clamp is fitted with an allan screw (uses standard Tama wrench) a wing nut probably would be sufficient. Also, they are made of pot metal, billet aluminum would be much stronger and more attractive, and of course they should be offered at the same price :)
