Cons

Comments about Tama S.L.P. Studio Maple Snare:

I bought this snare to gig with and I have been happy with it. I play mostly Indy folk rock. The first time I used it the sound guy complemented me on my snare sound. I put on an Evans dry head at a medium tuning and it sounds great at every tuning I tried. It has a huge sound and is pretty easy to get it dialed in and sounding great. It is pretty loud so if you are playing in a smaller room or playing quieter stuff it probably will be a bit too much. The wood hoops sound great as well and have held up so far. One thing to be aware of is because of the wood hoops it doesn't fit every snare stand I've use. Pretty happy with it for the price.
