Tama

Lightning fast, total adjustability, and serious power.

Fastball Bearing

Based on the super accurate bearing used in PC hard drives, ABS systems in automobiles, and so on. This ultra-precise machined technology produces highly accurate revolving movement and high durability in even the toughest environment.

LiteSprocket

Tama adopted a true round-shaped "LiteSprocket" for a natural feel and smooth action. Compared with Iron Cobra's sprocket, this version decreases its weight by 40%. It revolves naturally and smoothly, providing a lighter feel.

Projector Beater

Specially designed for Speed Cobra to give the bass drum more sound projection and rich resonance. The convex shaped head focuses the power generated by the beater stroke's action to the smaller surface area. This angle gives you a more focused attack and punchy sonic penetration. Rotate the beater head for larger surface contact and get a fatter sound with extremely powerful volume.

Super Spring

The newly developed Super Spring needs less momentum in the beginning of pedal action. When the beater rebounds from the bass drum head, you can easily feel a quicker response, and by adjusting the Cobra Coil underneath the footboard you can acquire a smoother feel.

Features

  • Fastball Bearing
  • Lite Sprocket
  • Super Spring
  • Projector Beater

The essential features of Tama's vaunted Iron Cobra, boiled down and engineered for blinding speed.

Hard to explain but... they are faster

Features:

I love how easy it is to adjust.  I love the way it attaches to the bass drum.

Quality:

Seams like it will last forever.

Value:

Not the most expensive kick you could buy but not the cheapest either.  I cannot imagine spending more on a single pedal.

Overall:

It really is faster, and gives me more control, than any pedal I've ever used before.

It Works.

Features:

It's got everything you could possibly want and is easily adjustable.

Quality:

I've only been playing it a couple of weeks, but it is SOLID and built to last.

Value:

It's a bit pricey for someone who doesn't play professionally, but it you plan on playing for a long time, it's a good investment.  With the sale discounts, I got an excellent price.

Overall:

I'm not an expert on foot pedals.  I'd been using an old middle-of-the-road Tama petal for 20 years and needed an upgrade.  All I can say is that this pedal is sweet.  The light weight of the beater took some getting used to (and I like the sound of the flat part of the beater better than the pointed part), but once I adjusted, my footwork has never been better.  In the past, the pedal I had limited my skills.  Now I have to work my skills up to the level of the pedal.  And, as a size 13, I love the long board.

Speed Cobras

Overall:

I've played almost every pedal out there. I'm at the point in life where money isn't an issue when I go to buy a pedal/set. I also like the Demon Drives (I have them too) but they are much harder to dial in. The Speed Cobras are easy! These pedals give you more power with less energy expended. I was using Iron Cobra belt driven pedals on my Big Double Bass kit and it took so much energy to drive them. I already had a set of Double Pedal Speed Cobras on my single bass kit and loved them. I realized that if I didn't break down and get a pair of Speed Cobra singles for my DBL Bass kit the belt driven pedals were going to hold me back. I've been playing a lot of fast and sometimes complex single bass pedal stuff so these Speed Cobras made it so much easier to pull off. I played a song I was rehearsing that would burn my R foot up in two takes. Now with the Speed Cobras I can do it strong ten times in a row. I highly recommend these pedals. You will be so glad you bought them. I guarantee they will make fast pedal work easier and smoother for you.

Best single bass pedal for the price!

Features:

TONS of features! I like the bearing on the spring, smooth as butter, it's addicting, I want to go play just because of how smooth and responsive this pedal is! I also like the cobra coil I had no idea was on it, that's the only reason was even considering iron cobra.

Quality:

The quality is awesome, it feels like a rock, so sturdy! I can't say how pleased I an with this product. It really surprised me I'm deffenetly a speed cobra fan from now on! I can't find a quality flaw on this thing! I recommend over any other pedal!

Value:

I put a 10 because for this caliber of pedal it's a good price but everyone likes to gripe about the price could be lower.

Overall:

Over all it's awesome couldn't ask for more (well I could but you know how it goes) I love this pedal if your considering it just buy it trust me you will REALLY like it I can tell the difference from it and my old pedal immediately I could do fills with my foot significantly faster! Highly recommend!

Nice bass pedal, nothing to complain about except the price

Features:

A lot of adjustments like other pedals.

Quality:

Solid metal parts, no plastic pieces like some pedals.

Value:

A bit expensive but there's manufacturing tooling costs for new equipment and R&D costs to the Tama people.

Overall:

Nice feel, like a Ludwig Speed King, but with more bells and whistles for adjustments.
