A boom and straight stand in one.

The HC33BW Stage Master Boom Cymbal Stand from Tama features a boom/straight convertible tilter, so if there's no room for a boom, simply convert to a straight stand! The boom arm stores neatly inside the upper tube.

The M8 threaded rod is also thicker to withstand the hardest hitters. A new round-shaped Cymbal Mate can be spun easily with just a flick of the finger, but thanks to non-threaded sections on both the tilter and the Cymbal Mate, the Cymbal mate won't spin off the top of the tilter during normal play. You can choose two Cymbal Mate positions for ride or China cymbals for a looser or tighter fit.

Are cymbal stands just for supporting cymbals? Tama thinks that cymbal stands are also musical instruments. All Tama cymbal stands in the Roadpro and Swingstar lineups were designed with the elimination of stand noise a top priority. A special rubber cap at the end of the upper tube eliminates swaying and rattling, and a special nylon sleeve underneath the die-cast joint of the base section further reduces swaying.

The cymbal bottom protects the cymbal's center hole from the tilter's shaft and threads. If part of the nylon sleeve wears out, you can continue to use the cymbal bottom by turning it upside down.

This cymbal stand has a 15-3/4" (400m) boom arm length, 25.4mm-diameter base section tubing, and features double-braced legs.

I haven't bought hardware in a long time and I am comparing these stands to the 30 yr old Tama and Ludwig stands I still have in use and in perfect working order for all their age. I am not a gigging drummer. I have a day job and play a few times here and there mostly for fun.

The base, legs, and base stability is fine. But, I was surprised at the small pipe diameter much reduced from the past. Stability is lost due to the small pipe diameter and so so fit of the plastic bushings.

The stands are weakly stable at full extension. I had to rotate the base to make sure one leg was directly below the arm to keep it from falling over from the cymbal weight. Now this is a pretty heavy 20" ride cymbal, heavier than typcial, but I do have to use care not to tip the stand over. A smaller crash would not be a problem.

For the price I don't think you can do better. I would like to see what else is out there and at what price point. Certainly not as good as the old stuff but then what is.
The boom is useful at modes angles but not for a horizontal reach. Too unstable.
Not crazy about the small diameter and poor fit of the retention bushings.
Get what you pay for quality. Not terrible but not great.

        Please...no....

Comments about Tama Stage Master Double-Braced Boom Cymbal Stand:

Please. Do not buy the name brand. There are other cymbal stands that are half their cost but same quality. Sound Preccusion double braced boom stands 2 pack are a way bigger deal for litterally the same price. Please, like its not enough that drummers have to pay so much for cymbals and drums. Do yourself a favor and save 60 bucks to buy a tom, or a crash.

        can be tricky

        By TheBigPhoney

Comments about Tama Stage Master Double-Braced Boom Cymbal Stand:

This stand came with my Tama Imperialstar set. I use it for a 16 inch crash and have used it for a 20 inch ride. It's incredibly sturdy, but if the boom is angled the wrong way, it eventually starts to slide and leaves the cymbal slanted. Even that can be fixed with simple repositioning though. Overall worth it. I'd buy more if given the option.

Comments about Tama Stage Master Double-Braced Boom Cymbal Stand:

My set came with one. That was half a year ago, and since then, I've bought a Tama Roadpro boom stand and a DW 9700 boom stand. Both of those are far better than this.If you're on a budget and really need a stand, this one will do. But if you can afford it, I suggest DW.

I bought two of these stage master stands and they are terrific. I also have a pearl stand but these are just as good if not better. I have an 18 inch and a 16 in crash on themand they have not moved up or down or have turned since I had these. I recommend these stands to anyone.

Comments about Tama Stage Master Double-Braced Boom Cymbal Stand:

I own three of these, and I really like them. I use them to hold up my 16" and 2 18" inch crashes and I haven't had any problems with them. I'm not sure how they would hold up under the stress of a heavy hitter but if you're an average rock drummer these are sturdy enough to handle the stress.
