Review

Comments about Tama Warlord Collection Praetorian Snare Drum with Case:

The people giving bad ratings to this one really need to a) actually own the thing and not have their "review" based on a floor model that most likely hasn't been tuned (at all or properly) b) experiment with different heads (anything with a vented muffle ring ala Aquarian Focus X would help a lot to get the best sound of of it), this is a 3mm metal shell, so of course it's going to be a bit ringy as is. Again, with the right tunning, and by controlling its ringing quality, you will unleash the AMAZING sound that this thing can and will produce. This snare has pretty much the same shell as the legendary bell brass snare that Tama has been producing as their top of the line snare for about 30 years now with drummers like Lars Ulrich and Abe Cunningham endorsing for a solid amount of years. Saying that it sounds like shite is just..wrong and unrealistic.

Comments about Tama Warlord Collection Praetorian Snare Drum with Case:

I own over 20 snares, and this one has a little of ALL of them in it. Loud and cracking when needed, soft and warm when needed. I do not regret buying this snare at all. It goes perfect with the Warlord kit I have!

My dream snare drum

Comments about Tama Warlord Collection Praetorian Snare Drum with Case:

One of the most outstanding aspects of this snare resides on it's power, the attack and volume that projects at times is enough to not mic the snare in small spaces. Also the case that comes with it is a very nice addition. The Snare responds well to high and low tunings and also (and surprisingly for me) to a low volume playingThe only "but" resides in it's price, although the Swarovsky Crystals are a really nice touch and the Snare, I must say is gorgeous, the price went up.
