OVERVIEW

Add deep snare depth and some death to your kit.

Taye's TourPro Graphix Skulls Snare is definitely the snare for you if you want to make a statement! Issued in very limited quantities, Taye Graphix series drums feature high-quality, one-of-a-kind graphics. The 7" x 14" Graphix Skulls Snare features an 8-ply 7mm EFS custom birch/basswood shell.

This snare drum mixes the right woods to harness the best of both worlds. For the TourPro drums, Taye started with basswood, which was
an integral component in the sound of those revered drums of the '40s through the '60s. A softer wood than maple, its open grain structure diffuses the sound somewhat, warming it. Then Taye added birch, a wood with maple-like density, to the formula. What basswood spreads out, birch tightens up. The result is centered attack with a pronounced roundness and complex overtone - very much a vintage vibe. It's a sound some say was lost and is now reclaimed in the Taye TourPro series, which are finished using the same lacquering process as Taye's StudioMaple.

If you play metal and are look for that nice deep 80's hair band metal sound...this snare fits the bill perfectly. The stock heads are ok, but I put a Evans Genera dry on top and a Hazy 200 on the bottom and turned this into a studio quality snare. The snare throw off is big and easy to use without being in the way and it keeps it tuning very well. Plus it just plain looks awesome! Buy it!
