    I've been playing in drumming circles, always borrowing other drums, so I knew what I wanted when I was looking for my own djembe, and this drum perfectly fits my desires! It has a wonderful bass sound as well as good higher notes. It came tuned perfectly and in great condition. I like the engravings on the base, and the color is good. I like the size, easy to carry. I'm going to enjoy playing this drum!

    This drum sounds really amazing.  All tones sound great - especially the bass.  It can easily be heard over amplified guitars and keyboard.  The only problem I found was that the wood is very hard and it hurts to play a little more than other djembes I've played, but when I'm jamming with other musicians, I don't really notice that much.

    Just got this djembe, and all I can say is wow!  I sat down and played for a good hour right out of the box.  Tuned to perfection when I got it.  And at the price its offered at, why would you not get it.  If your looking for a high quality yet low priced djembe, this is it.

    Toca Vuur 12" wood rope-tuned animal-skin head djembe. Mine arrived in good tune; came with instructions on how to tune (it's a wood drum with a skin head and rope tuning: expect it might go out of tune a bit in transit). Sounds very good; bigger than 12" would make it easier to play, but bass is strong and all tones sound good. And it also looks good.

    Not Tuned - Dull Sound

    I ordered this drum and sent it back. It wasn't tuned and the head slipped. It sounded dull. I was not impressed with the quality of the ropes, the carving was ok. I bought this drum to play at the Venice Beach drum circle. I bought a Sageman 12" deep carved and it sounded much better and the carving was INSANE!!!!
