Simply put these beaters are extremely cool! Just loosen the bolt on the back of the head with a drum key and it slides up and down the shaft and the head tilts all at the same time. Super light and very fast!! I tried and wasted a great deal of $$ on many beaters. I use Yamaha Flying Dragon Direct drive pedals with the wooden beaters for a few years. I like that set up. But these beaters are so light make the response time a real kick! Take your favorite pedal and remove the beater and feel the action. Now add only about 3 ounces. Theres not much difference. Because it is this light it is not a problem for me. I still have plenty of power and then some on a 26"X14" kick. The beater surface slams it with a good punch! If you want more mass though you can easily slip on your favorite weights or by the Trick weights. I liked these beaters so much and then I discovered the Trick pedals they go on so I am going to give them a try. I used the summer coupon that Musicians friend emailed me and ordered the Big foot double pedal system for a killer price. Looking at reviews of these CNC machined pedals and after experiencing their beaters on my Flying Dragons I want to get into it. My Flying Dragons (Direct Drive)will always be keepers though! They fly.if you have a favorite pedal I seriously recommend trying these beaters. Their not cheap...the most expensive I ave found, Only if I would have found them before I wasted $$ on other beaters. I also like to play bare footed most of the time.

Comments about Trick Drums Pro 1-V Detonator Beater:

As a professional drummer, when I first tried Trick pedals I was immediately sold. Absolutely the best pedals no questions asked. To my knowledge, the Detonator beater is the lightest beater on the market. With that said, laws of common sense will tell you that it's the fastest. You can use a hard plastic or a soft felt depending on your preference. You can adjust the beater to hit perfectly flush on the bass drum head. Great for practicing, live gigs, or recording. Trick has done their homework and left no stone unturned. Overall...simply the best!

These hammers have a nice weight and feel great. The adjustable head lets you position them perfectly to maximize strike and preserve the bass drum head. The replacable pads are thin so watch out for wear as you can see they will eventually become problematic. It has a nice weight distribution and are adjustable so you can advatage its action to your playing style. I highly recommend them, just double check to make sure you can get replacement strike pads and change them when they start to become worn out.

              BEAST

Comments about Trick Drums Pro 1-V Detonator Beater:

Simple. Buy them. I bought two for my double pedals and i love them.
Alright so it's a drum beater... it's not supposed to have super computers or anything attached to it. Everything possibly necessary to make the beater work correctly is on the beater itself. A small drum lug holds the beater into position on the shaft. What else should it do? In my opinion it does NOT need any weights or that defeats the purpose of the beater being light. Additionally, not only do the beaters come with their standard metal face, an attachment can be added so they can have plastic or felt strike points.
I believe that the beater is made of aluminum. Don't let this fool you though! The beater can take a beating! I'm a hard hitter and im also a speed demon. I can't do anything to bend or break these beaters. As long as you know how to use them properly unlike the guy below me. V
Yeah.. they are expensive... but the pros heavily outweigh the cost.

I got these on my bigfoot pedals. I took them on ONE tour for two weeks and by the 8th show the right beater was bent almost a half inch -___-Not to mention they're a little lighter than they should be. I put a dw9000 weight on it and it was fine. Just get the dominator beaters. I know I am. hey should have came with the bigfoot pedals.

I was looking for a bass drum pedal and looked at and read about this here Trick pedal after playing with the speed king which at times the beater would pop off but this one was heaven sent if you don't have it get quick.

i've owned two of these for one week, and it's changed my outlook on my bass pedal. these things give any pedal you put them on a QUICK response, and the attack they have is awesome! put a pad over the batter head, take the detachable heads off, and they get faster! when's the last time you've seen a novice do 16th rolls at 220? get these beaters!

Comments about Trick Drums Pro 1-V Detonator Beater:

I own a limited edition dw 9000 titanium double pedal, so naturally adding more titanium to the set up seemed like a good idea. When they first arrived, I put the standard dw beater in one hand and this in the other, and only noticed a little difference. I then placed them in my pedal and immediately noticed a huge difference. I had to tighten my springs even more because it was so feather-like. I don't see how a pedal could get any better/more sensitive. If you can pony the dough, you will be glad you did. Great product...you will want to play more.

i wanted a faster bass drum beater than the huge round felt beaters i had before, and the trick pro v-1 detonater beaters were perfect. it's much, much easier to play fast, and i can get a much louder punch from these babies. they're very light, and yet, very durable. I've had them for a couple months and haven't had a single problem with them.
