This does not work at all for Ludwig p83 or p85 style throw offs as the cord does not keep a knot. If you have a throw off that does not require a knot this stuff probably works like a charm.

I attempted to use these cords on a 1958 Ludwig marching snare that I refurbished. A nightmare to tighten, and more trouble then snare cords should be. Would not buy again.

Ok, I gave it 5 stars across because NEVER have I used cord that actually UPGRADES the snare strainer itself. Seriously, I like the cord that comes with PureSounds but it doesn't change/improve the fluid movement of the strainer lever itself. Exspensive? I thought so until I put in on. I will NEVER own a different cord again. This is a winner and most pleasant surprise purchase in more than a year.
