Vater BeBop Hickory drum sticks have smaller grips that are perfect for lower volume or jazz settings. All three sticks in the BeBop Hickory Series feature the same profile and tip. The 500 and 525 model sticks come in under a 7A in the grip. All three models feature the same quick taper that produces a fast rebound, and a small tip size for a clean ride cymbal tone.

Comments about Vater Bebop Hickory Drum Sticks:
For the past year I've been playing with a jazz band (kit for reference: Gretsch Cat. Club with Aq. American Vintage thin heads, a Sabian AAX 21" dry ride, a Sabian AAX 18" Omni, 1958 Zildjian thin 14" hats). I've been using the Vic Firth AJ5 sticks which measure .490" I thought I'd give the BeBop 500 a try because if I liked them they also come in maple for a quieter sound. I really like these sticks. The BeBop 500s are a little less heavy and a little less stiff than the AJ5. The sound from the shape of the tip is what really surprised me. Both cymbals sounded noticeably darker with the Vaters, as did the mounted tom. I couldn't hear a different on the hats for floor tom, but if you're looking to darken your sound a bit, give these a try.
