Great for heavy hitters.

Designed by the multi-platinum drummer of the band Disturbed, Mike Wengren's stick measures in between a 5B and a 2B with a quick taper to an oval nylon tip. The extra length gives some added weight and a bit more reach. Nicely weighted and durable, this is a great Vater stick for hard-hitting drumming. Stick is finished in a black stain with artwork featuring Disturbed's album logos.

"I've been playing Vater for my entire career. There simply isn't anyone else out there that crafts wood better than they do. My playing requires a lot of power, precision, and intensity. The added length and thickness combined with the beefier shoulder and shorter taper of my stick model was designed to help me do just that. It gives me that extra edge to push me to the limits of my performances night after night." - Mike Wengren (Disturbed)

Tips break very easily

By donald otto

from Hershey, PA

Comments about Vater Mike Wengren Drumsticks:

Tips break in no time if you play the ride heavily. Damaged my brand new snare head as result.
Not recommended. Length is good, tips are cheap.
The tips break quickly and you get damaged heads.
What good are they if the tips keep breaking and damaging my heads.

Maybe 4 Metal

Comments about Vater Mike Wengren Drumsticks:

These sticks are pretty much a 2B with a 17 inch length. I used a couple pair (for practicing) about a month just to try something new and they held up very well.I would recommend these to hard hitters and metal style drummers. Im an alternative rock/funk style dummer so they just were'nt for me. But overall a very balanced and solid stick!

Maybe I got a bad one.....

Comments about Vater Mike Wengren Drumsticks:

Loved the size, weight and balance. But I broke one 3rd song, first set. I rarely break sticks. So this surprised me. I have went back to the Vater 1A model. VERY close in all the features except more durable and costs a little less.

beast sticks

By Anonymous

Comments about Vater Mike Wengren Drumsticks:

I bought these sticks because I break sticks fairly regularly. A while back I bought a pair of Vic Firth Metal sticks(that's what they're called, theyre made for metal, not of metal) and theyre tough as nails, but are not balanced very well. The Wengren sticks are very well balanced. These things are monsters! I don't see them breaking any time soon, and recently I've used them to play on marching tenors, which are BRUTAL on stick! Theyre holding up awesome!. My only problem with these sticks is that they've rubbed a blister on my right hand(dominant hand) because of their size. Also, they are extremely loud, and therefore not good for very much if youre not playing metal. If metal is your game and you bash sticks, these are a definite must-have.

best drumstick ever for metal drummers!

By disturbeddrummer_7

from Nickerson, KS

Comments about Vater Mike Wengren Drumsticks:

I got the drumsticks because my favorite band is disturbed, regardless of what it would be like. Well i ended up using it on my set and they hold up great! the paint doesnt leave weird marks on your heads and cymbals like other sticks do. Great weight for me, not to heavy not to light. I love them.
