I've tried so many versions of sticks like these because I've been told my drums are too loud. While these work to reduce some of the volume of the drums the dowels tend to chip, flake, crack, and break quite easily especially when hitting cymbals. I've been using my pair for several months now and on top of the degradation of the dowels the white coating has begun to slip and wrinkle up a bit and a few times the black caps on the ends have come off. I've tried using wood glue to fix them but in the end they're just getting worn out. I'm looking to buy the heavier version of these to see if they last any better but I'm considering wrapping tape around the whole thing to hopefully increase the longevity a bit more.
Another con with these is you do not get as much bounce / feedback off of the heads which makes fills a bit harder and drum rolls less crisp.
They do help tone down the loudness of drums
They degrade really quickly, especially the dowel parts. I have splintered pieces of these all over the carpet around my drumset.
Could be a little cheaper in price... unless they want to improve the quality, then the current price would be fitting.

These sticks are better than hot rods. They are more durable and have a better grip. If you want sticks for quiet play or lower volume music buy these instead of hot rods.

These sticks feel sooooooo good. Even though you don't get as much cymbal definition, you get a really warm and acoustic feel. I really like the beefy feel grip as compared to the Pro-Mark Lightning Rods. Sweet playin.... enjoy!

These sticks are really nice. They are fun to play with when you are going acoustic or you can use them if you need to be a little quieter (because they are softer). Overall, they are really nice.
