        Vater Sugar Maple Drumsticks Super Jazz Wood

        After having played with Hickory sticks of another brand for many years (decades, lol), I finally found my optimal stick for the future.
        These are the ideal drum sticks for me to play Jazz. I used thinner sticks before, but since I tried the Vater Super Jazz in Sugar Maple, I could switch to a slightly thicker stick with an ever better performance than my former Hickory Sticks.
        Every pair is matched perfectly and crafted to perfection.
        Best value for my money.

        Fantastic sticks and good value

        I gave these sticks a consistent value of "9" as I don't believe there is a "perfect 10" stick out there. Each pair of sticks is different and most companies produce a good product. I bought 1 pair and was so happy with them that I ordered 4 more pairs. I have played all the major stick companies and models and am very happy with my Vater purchase and will do so again and again.
        I purchased these on a whim and am glad I did. At first I thought they would be too light for playing but they stand up well and have not broken a pair yet. The weight of the stick is misleading as they are very light yet play as if they are much heavier.
        I have been playing drums for over 40 years and was taught to play correctly, (marching and concert bands) and for this reason I am not in the habit of breaking sticks usually they wear out from the rim shots. These sticks are well balanced and sound good producing a warm sound from good heads and a nice "bright" sound from the ride cymbal.
        These sticks are about average in price for high quality sticks yet are superior in price for product value.

        For the longest i was looking for a stick with durability but yet light.I was introduced to vater sugar maple stick's and boy was i impressed !!I am a hard hitting drummer when it comes to a funk groove but when i use my toms or my cymbals i don't hit them hard.I use super jazz so far because it's light but yet durable and that is what i am looking for.I plan to try some of the other sugar maple sticks but so far i am stuck on the super jazz.I wouldn't recommend this stick for hard hitting drummer but if your smooth playing cat then this is the stick for you.

        Vater makes the best sticks in the world, no doubt about it. These maples in particular are outstanding -- they're perfectly balanced, perfectly weighted and perfectly matched from pair to pair. I've never found this level of quality and consistency with Vic Firth nor Promark nor Zildjian, and they cost less than all of those brands. If there's a better stick in the world today, I've yet to find it.. Vater's the best, try them and see for yourself.

        I love the vater sugar maple fusion sticks. They have a grip size that is easy to control and a response that is lightning fast. If you just like to beat the tar out of your drums i'd recommend the hickory but if you enjoy a fast stick that isn't too small i'd choose these!

        Smooth Jazz only

        I thought it was a dream come true: a lighter version of my favorite Vater Fusions! Unfortunately, you can snap these sticks in half with your own bare hands - that's how weak sugar maple is. I broke two pair over the course of one three hour practice. If you hit any harder than a smooth jazz drummer, pass on these.

        Lightweight and easy to break

        I first thought that the first ones that I got were defective because I broke the nylon tip on the first day of use on the ride. When I got a new pair and managed to break the stick (the thinnest part at the top just snapped on the crash) I changed to Ahead. These sticks have a great feel to them, but the quality just is not what I expected.

        Only sticks i use

        These are the only sticks I will ever use, they're light as a feather without sacrificing sound quality and feel great in your hands to boot. The only downside about these is that they're a bit expensive and the 5a's break a little easily (I've taken down a 6pack of these on my electric drum pads), but if you get a set of covers or move up to the 5b's, you're golden
