I think these are really awesome sticks to buy. They are very comfortable, very easy to hold, they never get uncomfortable actually. In my opinion, it doesn't absorb as much energy as I thought it would, but I use 5B right now. I figure I'd try out more sizes, and see how they compare. Otherwise, very beautiful pieces of wood!

I have used Vic Firth's 5AN (Nylon-tip 5A) ever since I began playing and I have loved them ever since. I tried wood tip but nothing gave me the same speed and rebound as these sticks. They do tend to break every now and then on me, but that's probably just a user error, no the sticks'. All i can say is, good job, Vic Firth!

First outing with them for band practice, they all noticed I was much louder! Hey, and I'm not mic'ed in that studio. So that means they were exactly right. Great sound on the ride, really rings out the crashes, hi-hats sound stronger, rebound/play on the heads is great. Really I think I'm quicker with these because of the tip from the VF BRs jazzy tip, even though they are heavier. And they are an absolute BEAST on the snare!
When I think about changing sticks I buy 1-each of different styles. I bought a 3-pack, which means I'm done shopping, these are IN now!
Perfect weight and balance. Love the neck taper. Just right on the nylon tip size. Played 5Bs for years, went to VF Buddy Rich 5A/5B blend but felt that tip was too light and jazz oriented. Tested out the VF and Zildjian Rock/Nylon models and these were the winners. Have used Zildjian sticks in that past and usually like those also, but the neck was too fat, and the tip was beyond big. For metal they would be good, but for a middle ground classic rock style stick these are just right. The VF Rock on the rides really projects well.
I only play VFs and Zildjians, both make great quality sticks.

For the price, these sticks (to me) are well worth it. I play punk/rock and hardcore rock and Vic sticks never fail for me. The feel is great, and they project sound very well! I love the logos and the tip of the stick, too . If you have the money and are looking for a great pair of sticks for a great deal, look no further than Vic!

Well overall these sticks are some of the best made out there. Remember they do break if you hit hard like I do. The best sound is the rim clicks from the snare. I can not believe how loud they project. These sticks have great feel. Nylon tips sound great on my Paiste Alphas. Sound is second to none. Fast on rolls. That is probably why Buddy Rich plays these!!!
These sticks work great with the band I am in. Heavy Modern Rock. Great balance, feel and control. Will project!
They are made with precision accuracy. If I am in a angry hard core attitude. After work and play. These sticks will break. All sticks can break which I accept. Unfortunately that sucks cuz you spend a lot of money on these.
For the value this can not be beat. Sticks relatively have stayed the same price for 10 years.
