Comments about Vic Firth Danny Carey Signature Drumsticks:

I was browsing signature drumsticks, comparing them to the ones I did use then, Neil Peart Japanese oak, when I noticed something very different about Danny Carey's sticks. They were tapered to fit the hand. I use lots of technique in my playing as well as power when needed an these sticks fit like a natural glove. I let one of my friends use the pair an they stopped mid song to make sure their head was not playing tricks on them :) I'm not switching sticks any time soon. I would encourage anyone to try them, especially during performances. To truly put them an you to the test. Great sticks, great buy an thought up by a great artist.

Great stick! Well balanced. Tips began to chip within a week, but i am a heavy hitter. Im going to try the nylon tipped ones.

Comments about Vic Firth Danny Carey Signature Drumsticks:

I've been playing drums professionally for over 25 years and all together for over 35 years, and these are without a doubt one of the best drumsticks on the market. I've tried every signature stick VF makes.. They very comfortable, durable and well balanced. The tapered inset is set perfectly at the balance point of the stick. Don't let the large size fool you. These sticks perform very well at light volumes and are easy to control. They will rock out too if the venue or song requires it. I bounced back and forth between these and the Zildjian Travis Barker model (yes Travis isn't that great but his sticks are awesome) and finally ended up using the DC's full time as the difference in wrist stiffness at the end of a show was greatly reduced using these sticks. This signifies that the stick is doing more work which is what drummers strive for. The teardrop tips sound ridiculous on my Zildjian K heavy ride and intricate sticking details on both snare and toms can be heard easily through the mix. As a bonus, if you have sweaty slippery hands, these sticks will not slide because of the taper in the grip. Easily one of the best performing sticks out there and a far cry better than most signature sticks. If the situation requires minimal volume I just switch to Hotrods, otherwise the DC's are in my hands. BTW, if you break one of these sticks, you either need anger management classes or need to be driving railroad spikes in crossties

I am generally a smaller diameter stick guy. Neil Peart ProMark size. I do have difficulty hanging on to sticks sometimes. I always liked the Trueline sticks of years ago that Danny used. I thought I would give these a try. I really like them. Easy to hang on to with the recess in the handle and the weight is really nice. I am a believer in bigger sticks thanks to these.

Thicker stick helps with control and placement on the drum. Great stick that makes it a real joy to play.
Great Quailty! Couldn't of been better. Really helped me and the stick lasts a long time, with great durability!
Great value!! With such an incredible stick the price is great!

Comments about Vic Firth Danny Carey Signature Drumsticks:

if your looking for a stick that has a huge grip and weighs the perfect amount, this is your stick. the grips is massive, but the weight is about the same as a 2b, which is perfect for me even though i play soft rock and fast punk occasionally. i really like the groove in the middle of the stick to put your thumb, it really adds a nice balance point and a comfortable position to place your thumb. theres only one problem with this stick (its the problem i have with all vic firth sticks) is that the taper is long and super thin. it looks bad and decreases the durability. not too big of a problem considering the stick is pretty long so it might miss the taper. overall, its just a great stick with a great grip and nice feel.

                Blown Away

                By Tim Ferguson

                from over there

Comments about Vic Firth Danny Carey Signature Drumsticks:

I bought these sticks from a random booth at a random drum competition because they were the only non-marching sticks left besides some puny looking pro marks and I just happened to have some spare change. I am so glad I chose these over the wimpy pro-marks. My peers insist that lighter sticks are the way to go since you are supposed to get more speed and control, but thin sticks suck. With the added mass, you get a fuller sound with more volume(More sound w/ less effort). They fit well in your hand, to the point where you forget you're even holding them. They also last and last. I chipped off a large piece of a stick and to my surprise the rebound was exactly the same! Also you can play anything with these sticks. Nobody says you have to use thin sticks for jazz and heavy sticks for rock. These sticks work for everything and everyone. Bottom line: If you want a durable, comfortable drumstick that brings out the best in your drums and refuses to break under the most severe punishment, you have found it with the Danny Carey Signatures.

Most comfortable wood stick I've used

Comments about Vic Firth Danny Carey Signature Drumsticks:

These sticks feel so good in your hands!!! I know not a lot of people go into shopping for sticks thinking comfort, really, but that is a huge thing when you're playing for a long time. Not only do they fit well in your hands and have incredible balance, but they sound just as good as any other stick I've used. When I play a show I grab up a pair of these sticks and hit the stage. Not as good as AHEAD sticks for the studio, but an incredible stick live!

I got these sticks because they're Danny Carey signatures. They were bigger than I thought but I have big hands so it worked out. For being so large they're extremely light. They're beefy, fast, and the wooden tip gives you that nice dry tone from your cymbals. They're good for hard hitters (like Danny) or light hitters (Myself). They're so easy to control and I won't ever get anything else.

Comments about Vic Firth Danny Carey Signature Drumsticks:

These sticks bring one thing to mind; balance. the "handle" is much thicker than the shaft, which evens out the weight of the stick to make the tip end feel lighter and easier to control. Even though these sticks are a tad beefy, they do NOT feel it! For fast intricate patterns these will do you wonders, but won't break easy because of their size! I love these sticks!
