      Unique Sound

      By

      from Kasilof, Alaska

      Comments about Vic Firth Dreadlocks:

I purchased them (along with various other brushes/sticks) to add some tonal variety for the drums and for various clients that like something a little different in the studio.
Great and unique sound. Sounds wonderful on certain ride cymbals.
The plastic parts seem cheap, I could see them breaking if one was to get to carried away. I'll provide an update if any such events occur.
Inexpensive enough for every one to try.

      Great sound, not too durable

      By

      Comments about Vic Firth Dreadlocks:

I've had a few pair, and each seems to "shed" a little bit at a time, loosing a leg or two a week, so before long they're kind of un-usable.I really love the sound though, just seems to get expensive on my end. Oh well I keep buying them. :)

      Interesting Item

      Comments about Vic Firth Dreadlocks:

I've used them in marching band before for a swing number. They are like brushes is that you can swish them around. They just sort of make a clikkity sound that's pretty cool. The first pair I got though all the bristle things fell out of one, the other was fine. I got a second pair and no problems. The things just weren't glued in enough I suppose. They are heavy and sort of dangerous looking so I wouldn't imagine using them on any other instrument though.

      Comments about Vic Firth Dreadlocks:

These are great. I never saw anything like them before. I started using them in my punk band called Rancid, and have used them ever since!

It gave a better sound than a rute, rake, or brush

      Comments about Vic Firth Dreadlocks:

The overall test was at a marching band festival, and boy did it prove to be good to have. a must have for all dedicated snare drummers.
