Comments about Vic Firth Practice Sticks with Rubber Tip:

I bought these sticks out of shear curiosity. Living in an apartment and using Remo SilentStroke heads, I deeded a stick to practice with that might help me play quiet on my cymbals as well. They are a bit "tip" heavy and somewhat off balance. The focal balance point of the stick is for to the center than normal sticks. Still, they are a lot of fun to use when just practicing rudiments on a table top or any other solid surface. On real drum heads, they are fun to work with and render a sort of "mallet" sound to your drums and cymbals. It's all a matter of taste and purpose.

Comments about Vic Firth Practice Sticks with Rubber Tip:

I bought these to use mostly for teaching on a electric set with the metal cymbals, which are still loud and clicks with real sticks.
They work great until the tips come off, if you can find them you need to re glue them on.
Once they come off its going to happen over and over.
On my third pair now and had to glue them last night.
They are two weeks old with little use.
Then, the tips will shred and render useless.
The sticks without tips are sorta unbalanced.
I wish you could buy more tips.
Still I do like them for my uses.
      Wish they were more durable.

These sticks give you the ability to practice anywhere, anytime. You don't need a practice pad, you can use your kitchen table, the counter, even your desk at work if you don't have mean cubicle-mates.
They do help build up hand strength and speed.

Comments about Vic Firth Practice Sticks with Rubber Tip:

Their cool for practicing rudiments around the house, but I do wish they were thicker and weighted better. The lightness if the stick takes away from the ability to control what you would find on regular sticks.
