I just received my Vic Firth stick bag today. The quality of this bag is simple - this should be the only stick bag you will need for the next decade (or more!). The material looks like genuine leather (which it is not) and the stitching is very heavy duty. The embroidered Vic Firth logo looks great also.Like many drummers when I was first learning to play, it seemed like I could never find a decent pair of matching sticks. Some 10+ years later it now seems like I have more sticks than I know what to do with. Different brands, different sizes, brushes, rods, etc... I never thought I would need anything than a 6-8 pair stick bag. This bag will carry all of your sticks, any music you may have, plus all sorts of little tools and parts drummer seem to always need to keep close at hand!Originally I thought $50 for a stick bag was awfully stiff. Think about it - this isn't for beginning drummers. This is for serious, experienced drummers who have numerous sticks/etc to tote around and want serious quality. Not to mention, a very nice, sophisticated look. This bag is worth all of $50, as I know it will last me years.**by the way** I currently do not even use Vic Firth, I use Vater (first) and Zildjian (second) but this was easily the best bag I could find.- one other note - this bag WILL hang from a floor tom, however it is very heavy especially when fully loaded. I had no problems attaching to my FT, but I use a bag/pouch system (from Regal) that slips over my drum throne and has pockets on all sides (very awesome!)

This is a pretty good bag. The pockets arent divided for individual mallets, but two rows of pockets makes it easy to sew those in yourself and leave the back ones open for timpani mallets, BD beaters, etc. However, after having it about six months, one of the loops that connected the shoulder strap to the bag tore off. It is in a place that it cant be sewn back on and even if it was some restitching probably wouldnt help. Also, the elatic clips make it hard to hold up the bag on a marimba, between timpani, etc. if you have much more than mallets in there. No cloth cover on the inside but again east to add on.Great for orchestral and symphonic use

Comments about Vic Firth Stick Bag:

I play trombone professionally and French Horn, trumpet or tuba in a community orchestra but sometimes I'm called upon to cover percussion parts. I do a great deal of recording percussion parts and I've worked as a band director for 25 years. As a result, I've collected a small pile of sticks, drum keys, a timpani tuning key and mallets. This bag has helped me organize my pile. My middle school and high school percussionist actually think my stick bag is cool.

          Vic Firth Leather Stick bag

          By CJ

          from Mass

Comments about Vic Firth Stick Bag:

I am giving this product a 9 because when i recived it i didnt realize how massive it was. This bag is huge. I do not mind, but i was not expecting an almost backpack size bag. Like i said before the price is a little to steap.

Some great things about this bag: Storage space for whatever you need, even sheet music
Elastic drum clips for easy mounting
          built to last
I love this stick bag, it's durable, large enough for everything i need, and easy to mount on the drums.
The stiching is fantastic, unless you accidently cut it, tare it, rip it, or what ever, it will not break or tare.
One of the few issues i have with this bag is how much it costs. I understand the detail work and how durable it is, but i do not think it is worth the price.

          Unbelievable

Comments about Vic Firth Stick Bag:

I absolutely love this bag, I got a new stick & mallet set because I'm about to go on a big band trip. My major percussion instrument is marimba and this bag is more than capable of holding all the different mallets I need. My only peeve with this bag is that it doesn't have individual slots for sticks and mallets. You will not regret buying this bag, I promise.

Comments about Vic Firth Stick Bag:

I bought this bag for my teen-age son. The bag is nice and has a lot of great features... but the zippers on the main pocket and the sheet music pocket broke before it was even a year old! They didn't just come unstiched or separated - the teeth pulled off the zipper. For $49 I would expect it to last longer.

          Best Bag Around!!!

          By TomC70

          from Santa Maria, CA

Comments about Vic Firth Stick Bag:

Love this bag. It replaced my backpack that I carried my music binder, bible, sticks and other stuff in. Couldn't believe that my binder actually fit inside of this bag. Plenty of space for whatever you need and then some. Only feature I don't like is the shoulder strap- doesn't actually adjust to well, but that's not why I bought it. Highly recommended.
