The sticks do not slow you down. When using these with the Gladstone technique, your speed is great and the volume is loud. Your band members can hear your solos better. More recognition from the audience when they can hear you better.

I think these are great sticks. If you are dissappointed by the recent change with schnieders. This is the closest replacement stick! Great Buy!
Great stick, originally purchased cause the schnieder sticks are no longer lacquered in white. Which these stick are and they are amazing. Big and thick for great attack!
Every pair feels the same, they never break. Just outstanding quality.
It is totally worth it. It is 10 bucks for a stick that can last you as long as you can play!

I can't say enough about how good these sticks are for me. I sometimes don't play loud enough in band situations, so these sticks help me with that, without having to sacrifice any speed or chops that I have developed over the years. They also last quite a while before I have to retire each pair.
I'm a drum teacher, and I play with a local Atlanta band called Destination. I've used Vic Firth sticks exclusively for many years, but I've never found a model that fits me as perfectly as the Thomas Lang signature. It's as if Vic made them just for me! When I first saw them, I thought they would be too big and heavy, but when I played with them, I found that they are perfectly balanced, and don't feel heavy at all. My only worry was that recently, local music stores stopped carrying them, so I was afraid that Vic was discontinuing them. Thankfully, Musician's Friend came thru once again by offering them online for a better price than I was paying at the stores! And, I usually find them at my front door in two days! I sure hope Vic doesn't discontinue this model, I love them. Thanks again, Musician's Friend.
Vic Firth sticks are always top quality in my opinion.

I am just an entery level drummer (newbie w/political correctness). I bought some cheap drum sticks to start out with. That could have been a major mistake. As I have progressed my hands wrists and forearms began to cramp majorly. I thought it was going to be a forever ongoing thing. I almost decided to give it up, till my drum teacher gave me these. I am amazed! I can play for days and the cramping I once had, all the time, is now GONE! Disappeared! Awesome sticks! Great buy! If you ever have soreness or cramping these sticks are for you!

While I understand that all signature sticks are based on preferences of artists, no one (except Danny Carey) seemed to be getting it right. Mike Portnoy's stick is misshapen and a small diameter and Steve Gadd's sticks are like twigs, so These along with the Carey sticks, are perfect. Both kinds of sticks are like marching sticks, but still intended for the kit, and they both have a tremendously balanced feeling. Thick sticks rule, enough said.

The Lang Sig model is the best feeling stick i've ever used. It has all the great features that i've looked for in a stick. Thick and beefy with an acorn tip. The best thing about this stick is the balance. It's hard to find a stick of this size to have a good balance and maximum rebound, but this model definitely has it. Great stick all-around!
