      OVERVIEW

An affordable crash made from the same B20 alloy as many high-end cymbals.

The small sizes and medium-thin weight of these Wuhan crash provide an excellent balance of quick, explosive response and rapid decay. This balance of characteristics makes them perfect for adding crisp accents to musical passages.

The best crash cymbals money can buy? No.
The best crash cymbals so little money can buy? Absolutely.

Wuhan cymbals don't presume to challenge the sound quality, variety, or reputations of the fine professional-level cymbals on today's market. But when it comes to being affordable, that's another story.

Generally, "affordable" cymbals are made of less-expensive sheet alloys, using shortcut manufacturing methods and finishing steps in order to keep the cost down. With the resulting cymbals, you pretty much get what you pay for.

Wuhan cymbals are made of high-quality, cast B20 alloy. Handcrafted in China according to two-thousand-year-old traditional methods, this crash cymbal is buffed to a brilliant finish, and stamped with an unobtrusive but attractive logo.

I play in a metal band and I bought these cymbals for their dark signature sound. They are not by any means bright-sounding, but rather dark and explosive. If you are a hard hitter, think twice before buying these cymbals. They are medium cymbals, not heavy cymbals. I bought mine 5 months ago and they have severely cracked beyond repair and don't sound nearly as good as they did before (obviously). While I know how to play them without breaking them, one of my bands guitar players got on my kit a few times and completely destroyed them, leaving large cracks over just a few hours total of playing. Be careful with these, and use proper technique. They are not incredibly loud or piercing, so it may be tempting to hit them pretty hard - don't! The bright side is that they're very affordable to replace.

I own both the 16" crash and the 18" crash/ride. Interestingly enough, the 18" has a higher tone than the 16." I typically used the 18" crash/ride for heavier riffs coming off the hi-hat, used my 18" Wuhan china for most heavy breakdowns, and switched to the 16" for the really slow and nasty breakdowns because the 16" has the lowest, darkest, and meanest sound. They're great cymbals, but fragile. Use some love and care.
          Dark, gloomy sound.
Brilliant finish, good metal and sound.
These are the best bang-for-your-buck cymbals you can get today. If you're on a budget, these cymbals are for you. High quality B20 bronze cymbals cannot be found anywhere else at this price.

Where to begin. Lets start with pro and cons.Pros: B20 alloy, loud, decent sound, and inexpensive.
Cons: ( with mine ) Out of round. 3 rust spots from the lathing clamp that won't come out. The weight is very lopsided, you can feel when you hold it. 2 small cracks on the edge from flattening the cast. I also don't think it was rounded or edged. Very poorly lathed.
Bottom line: I wouldn't purchase onother one. Typical product from China. Poorly made.
If you're looking for cheap disposable entry level cymbals I'm sure these should hold you over for a year or so. If you're a pro or heavy hitter these won't last. Because of all the positive reviews I thought I would go ahead and take a chance. I'm going to keep mine as a back up. It's not worth the hassle to return. You always get what you pay for. Go Sabian or Paiste.

              Comments about Wuhan Crash Cymbal:

Wuhan makes some nice cymbals but their crashes are lacking. I own a 16 inch. It's pretty bright and has very annoying overtones. Piercing, unpleasant, unmusical overtones. The general tone of the cymbal is just unpleasant. It's made of B20, but in certain spaces, I could easily confuse it for an entry level, generic brass cymbal.

                    Comments about Wuhan Crash Cymbal:

Needless to say, this is a bargain. More importantly, I've been looking for a thin crash, with as little bell quality to its sound as possible, for some time now. This one's it! Very responsive, and a variety of sounds available if you take time to study the cymbal. It may appear a bit gong-y (and it is) when you try it first, but again, there's much more to this Wuhan than meets the ear. Highly recommend

I bought the 14" and I love it! This crash beats any of the big brand machine-made cymbals in a heartbeat.

I purchased it to complement my 16" Zildjian Paper-thin and I seriously think this Wuhan is actually louder.

You really can't beat the quality and sound for the price!

I've been drumming for around 8 years. I play many different styles of metal music. Spending 200-300 per cymbal is just not an option for most people right now. Thank goodness for Wuhan. I started with a china about a year ago. I was so surprised with what I got for my money that 6 months later I ordered this crash(16"), again so surprised with the "bang for buck" that Wuhan offers, I ordered the 14" crash. These cymbals are worth a try. Seriously!

I like the sound of this cymbal. It not a typical crash, and the sound takes some getting used to, but it's a nice addition to my kit. And the price can't be beat. I did have a bit of a problem in that when it arrived, it had a small gash in one edge, like someone had hit it straight on the edge with a steel bar. It took awhile (3 phone calls) for MF to get the return shipping arranged, but it eventually got all worked out and I'm quite happy with the replacement. I would recommend that you check it closely upon receipt, as it was difficult to tell if the defect on the first one was from the factory or from damage that occurred after manufacturing.

These are the are hands down the best cymbals for the price. IMO these babies should cost alot more. I've been playing for over 20yrs and I know what a good cymbal should sound like and these are it! I purchased the 16in crash and 18in crash/ride..had intentions on using them just for practice, but once I struck them, that decision left quickly. They sound absolutely amazing! Maybe I'm just lucky..idk..these are as good as most high end and priced cymbals out there..they have a tad bit more trashy sound to them, but still have that broken glass sound that most like..to me there's not much of a 'Oriental' sound at all, though most would think it is since they are made in China..I definitely would recommend these to anyone who wants a good sounding cymbal regardless of price..I'm sold and will be purchasing more of these from Wuhan. Oh yea, these cymbals look great as well, if that matters to you...
