Wuhan

An affordable ride made from the same B20 alloy that many high-end cymbals are.

Many drummers consider a 20" medium ride to be the all-purpose size and weight. This Wuhan 20" ride adds a full-bodied musical character and clean, clear stick response to the mix. This Wuhan ride cymbal is ready to lay down the rhythm in any musical application.

The best ride cymbal money can buy? No.
The best ride cymbal so little money can buy? Absolutely!
Wuhan cymbals don't presume to challenge the sound quality, variety, or reputations of the fine professional-level cymbals on today's market. But when it comes to being affordable, that's another story.

Generally, "affordable" cymbals are made of less-expensive sheet alloys, using shortcut manufacturing methods and finishing steps in order to keep the cost down. With the resulting cymbals, you pretty much get what you pay for.

Wuhan cymbals are made of high-quality, cast B20 alloy. Handcrafted in China according to two-thousand-year-old traditional methods, this Wuhan ride cymbals is buffed to a brilliant finish, and stamped with an unobtrusive but attractive logo.

I bought this as just a cymbal to smash on in practice, but after getting it and hearing it, i use it all the time at shows. it crashes well and has a nice cutting bell. all around great cymbal. plus, it's super cheap!

Wuhan Medium Ride

I love this cymbal.  It's colorful, open, and a little bit weird, which to me is good.  But buyers should keep in mind, this is not your average medium ride.  While incredibly resonant, this cymbal is just as trashy, with a dark yet piercing attack and sustain.  it really sounds like it was made by a manufacturer specializing in gong's and china-types.  If you intend to buy this cymbal, I would recommend keeping it on hand as an effects cymbal or secondary ride, but definitely not as a primary ride.  Still, I love it, so pick one up!

This ride, and the whole line for that matter, is amazing. B20 bronze, hand hammered, brilliant finish, and best of all Wuhan has eliminated those trashy oriental overtones that Wuhans of the past had. They weren't bad, just different and certainly not for everyone. While I found this ride to be a little on the thin side for a medium it had good definition and decay with a very nice wash of dark overtones. Easily gives Zildjian K's and Sabian HH's a run for their money. And at this price there's no comparison! Budget priced, but not a budget cymbal...professional quality all the way!

I've been Using this Wuhan 20" ride as a crash on my kit for a while now with my band, and it sounds great, and is affordable so when I break one, it's easily replaceable. I've just cracked my second one in 6 months, but still they're great. Only complaint is that the bell is tinyyyy, so hitting the sweet spot on the bell takes some precision aim.

Let me reiterate what I have said about Wuhans' before. If we could all go to the musiciansfriend-warehouse and try these out,we would find a couple that sound like Zildjian K's.The others would have a Chinese sound to them. There is a new series of wuhans out there that sound just like the old Zildjian's from the 60's and 70's.You can't buy them here unfortunately!I wish they carried them. They cost 1/2 of what the big 3 want for their "top of the line" cymbals. Otherwise, for the money, this ride is not a bad cymbal.
