      OVERVIEW

Many drummers consider a 20" medium ride to be the all-purpose size and weight. This Wuhan 20" ride adds a full-bodied musical character and clean, clear stick response to the mix. This Wuhan ride cymbal is ready to lay down the rhythm in any musical application.

The best ride cymbal money can buy? No.
The best ride cymbal so little money can buy? Absolutely!
Wuhan cymbals don't presume to challenge the sound quality, variety, or reputations of the fine professional-level cymbals on today's market. But when it comes to being affordable, that's another story.

Generally, "affordable" cymbals are made of less-expensive sheet alloys, using shortcut manufacturing methods and finishing steps in order to keep the cost down. With the resulting cymbals, you pretty much get what you pay for.

Wuhan cymbals are made of high-quality, cast B20 alloy. Handcrafted in China according to two-thousand-year-old traditional methods, this Wuhan ride cymbals is buffed to a brilliant finish, and stamped with an unobtrusive but attractive logo.

An affordable ride made from the same B20 alloy that many high-end cymbals are.

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

The one I got is almost perfect for my jazz set. I would like it a little drier with a bit more stick and may eventually do a little re-hammering. I would not suggest it for anything else due to its constant semi-dark sustain that provides a beautiful wash and nice complexity for jazz. The bell does have a western-style shape and sound instead of the no-bell sound that comes from the small bell on some expensive jazz cymbals. The one I got does not have enough stick sound for anything but jazz unless you seek a loud, constant wash/roar. I realize the loud crash/roar may be desireable for some genres, just not any I want to play.

Awesome cymbal, clear dark bell, articulate and sensitive as a ride, with beautiful tone, and nice medium volume full crash sound.

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

I bought this as just a cymbal to smash on in practice, but after getting it and hearing it, i use it all the time at shows. it crashes well and has a nice cutting bell. all around great cymbal. plus, it's super cheap!

          Wuhan Medium Ride

          By

          from Chapel Hill, NC

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

I love this cymbal. It's colorful, open, and a little bit weird, which to me is good. But buyers should keep in mind, this is not your average medium ride. While incredibly resonant, this cymbal is just as trashy, with a dark yet piercing attack and sustain. it really sounds like it was made by a manufacturer specializing in gong's and china-types. If you intend to buy this cymbal, I would recommend keeping it on hand as an effects cymbal or secondary ride, but definitely not as a primary ride. Still, I love it, so pick one up!

          Best deal out there.

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

This ride, and the whole line for that matter, is amazing. B20 bronze, hand hammered, brilliant finish, and best of all Wuhan has eliminated those trashy oriental overtones that Wuhans of the past had. They weren't bad, just different and certainly not for everyone. While I found this ride to be a little on the thin side for a medium it had good definition and decay with a very nice wash of dark overtones. Easily gives Zildjian K's and Sabian HH's a run for their money. And at this price there's no comparison! Budget priced, but not a budget cymbal...professional quality all the way!

          Good stuff

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

I've been Using this Wuhan 20" ride as a crash on my kit for a while now with my band, and it sounds great, and is affordable so when I break one, it's easily replaceable. I've just cracked my second one in 6 months, but still they're great. Only complaint is that the bell is tinyyyy, so hitting the sweet spot on the bell takes some precision aim.

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

Let me reiterate what I have said about Wuhans' before. If we could all go to the musiciansfriend-warehouse and try these out,we would find a couple that sound like Zildjian K's.The others would have a Chinese sound to them. There is a new series of wuhans out there that sound just like the old Zildjian's from the 60's and 70's.You can't buy them here unfortunately!I wish they carried them. They cost 1/2 of what the big 3 want for their "top of the line" cymbals. Otherwise, for the money, this ride is not a bad cymbal.

          NOT a cheap sounding ride!

          By

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

I just got mine last week, and I gotta say, these are hands down some of the nicest sounding rides being made today. They may not work for everybody, but if you like complex, musical and classy sounding rides, give one of these babies a try. I've been playing for 25 years, and owned all kinds of cymbals, and this is one of the best sounding rides I've had to date. I may have gotten lucky because I hear wuhans vary greatly from cymbal to cymbal, but the one I got reminds me of the 1960s and 70s Zildjians, I just love it. If you play really loud rock or metal, you might not like it because it's more wash than ping, but for the money you can't beat these things. Nothing in the big 3 catalog at this price range even remotely comes close, even some it the high end range don't sound this good.

          Awsome!!

Comments about Wuhan Medium Ride Cymbal:

all i got to say is awsome!!! i got this wuhan ride for christmas and i played for a while and the sound is better than any oter cymbal i have ever heard it has a nice dark tone to it and has a pretty fast decay and sweet wash. the only reason i gave it a 4.5 on features is cuz it is heavier on one side than the other so it makes it lean a little but i dont really care cuz it duzint effect the sound. this thing is made out of b20 alloy which is the same king of metal that high end meinl mb20s are made of (which costs like 330 bucks) i really think this ride will last me cuz i have had one of wuhans chinas and it has lasted me for over 2 years overall great cymbal amazing price. [!!!HLY RECCOMENDED!!!

I don't know if I was lucky or what but when I set up this 20" Wuhan ride I was shocked at the perfect ping and fast decay of this baby. Try it I don't see how you can lose at this price. I think Wuhan will catch on and price this thing what it is worth, much more!
