OVERVIEW

Incredibly crisp and full-bodied tone in a flyweight snare!

The Yamaha SD-3455 Aluminum Snare is lightweight yet strong, with a warm dry tone that's great for either stage or studio performance. The detachable strainer and butt allow you to remove the snare wires for snare side head changes and re-attach them quickly with a single drum key-screw. A tension indicator allows you to easily adjust your snares to the same tension when changing snare wires.

Comments about Yamaha Aluminum Snare:

I haven't seen many of these around, but I owe one, and it has been great for both live and recording situations. I was looking for a wood-snare to complement my 14x5,5 brass, but by "accident" ended up with one of these. I have the 6,5 version and it can be tuned in many ways.I tune mine quite high and get a nice rimshot. Great rock-snare, but I guess fine for jazz and everything. Very articulate ghoststrokes. Aluminium is softer and gives a dryer sound than steel, but don't worry, it will be heard.
