The Yamaha Tour Custom 5-Piece Fusion Shell Pack includes a 22" x 17" bass drum; 10" x 8 and 12" x 9" mounted toms, 14" x 14" suspended floor tom, and 6" x 14" Black Onyx snare drum; TH-945 triple tom holder, CL-945 tom ball clamp, and CSAT-924 cymbal stand attachment. Cymbals and hardware not included.
Air Seal System
All Yamaha wood drums have one thing in common. Yamaha's craftsmen create every drum shell using their exclusive staggered diagonal seam Air Seal System just as they have since 1967. Each two or three-ply master ply is cut to length to very precise tolerance with a diagonal cut on each end. The diagonal seam in the drum shell will not separate, eliminating the need to fill gaps in the bearing edge with filler putty. These plies have glue applied and are then put into the mold by hand, one master play at a time. The craftsman then inserts an air bag into the mold and inflates it, clamping the shell with even pressure 360 degrees around. This process creates a shell that is strong, starts round, and stays round for many years.
100% Maple Shell
Tour Custom drum shells are 100% maple. The bass drum is 7-ply 7mm and has a warm, deep tone; the toms are 6-ply 6mm, with lots of warmth and resonance and have a wide tuning range.
60 Degree Bearing Edges
All Tour Custom drums have 60-degree R2 bearing edges. This is something new for Yamaha on a maple shell drum set. This bearing edge has a rounder profile so that there is more shell to head contact. This gives the drums clarity in the low-end fundamental and added warmth.
Bass Drum Spurs
Sturdy, yet simple in design; the bass drum spurs hold the bass drum firmly in place even under heavy playing. They are height adjustable using a drum key, and there are steel spikes that can be exposed when extra hold is needed. They fold up compactly for transport and are marked with angle indicators so that you can set them up the same every time.
YESS Tom and Floor Tom Brackets
All Tour Custom toms and floor toms use the YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System). The toms have a mount attached to the shell at the nodal point by two bolts. This system allows the drum shell to vibrate freely for maximum sustain without restricting with where the placement of the drums. The floor tom brackets are small, minimal contact mounts that are located at the nodal point. They hold the legs securely in place without restricting the vibration of the shell.
Ball Clamp and Triple Tom Holder
Tour Custom drum sets includes the TH-945 triple tom holder with Yamaha's tom ball clamp that gives you 360-degree rotation. The ball, made of a super-hard resin, is held in place by a single bolt making angle adjustments on the toms quick and easy. The toms lock firmly in place at virtually any angle you want. This versatile tom holder lets you mount any combination of up to three toms and/or cymbals by using either the standard or the long version of our tom ball clamp and CH model cymbal booms.
Cymbals and hardware not included.

Bought this set a year ago. I get many compliments on how good my drums sound at every show I play. Recorded a video for FOX-51 that aired in 2008 with these drums. They look great, and sounded better!!! I have no problem tuning. These drums ROCK!!!
Once you buy this kit it will change your drumming skills and the ability to upgrade any drumset. This drumset, despite of the money this drumset could make your life change why playing on it this drumset has the best sound tone skins ever. While replacing it with the evans skins this drumset sounds like a real live drumset. If you upgrade it the drumset will sound like it's complete and ready to go!
I researched these drums for a month or two and end buying them around early May I love them alot kinda Hard to tune sometimes but other than that there great drums from kick drum i put emad on it sounds great and snare and toms I put evens ec2 coated they sound alright I recommend either evens g2 coated or remo emperor head they have a very wide tunning range but other than that I've been wondering when are they going to start selling the tour custom toms seperate so I can add,but ausome drums I recommend to anyone buying them yamaha is the stuff trust me.
I spent more than a month to research for my third drum sets. Narrow down to two choices: the Gretsch Renown Maple kits and the Yamaha Tour Custom. I finally decided to go with Tour custom. Both sound "likely" the same (with the same quality of Evans heads on all the toms, snare, Aquarian II for the 22' bass drum). I like the Yamaha hardware, incredible sound. The reason I gave 9 stars for quality, because I keep tuning the toms 1/8 turn every 2, 3 hours playing; Other than that I would recommend to with Yamaha Tour Custom!
INCREDIBLE. Can't buy anything better for the price! My only complaint: the bass drum had a small dent on the bottom and there was a flaw in the laquer on one of the toms. Other than that, I bought the gloss black and it's a beauty! The sound is incredible, and they are sturdy enough for touring. Yamaha makes incredible products! BUY THEM!
