Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I've had my eye on an A Custom pack for a long time now (probably 10 years) and I finally pulled the trigger. It hurt due to the price of the cymbals but man are they worth it.

My band plays a mix of 70s & 90s rock, 80s metal with the occasional punk thrown in (I know, what mix mix). They cymbals are perfect for all of it, if you want more of a modern metal sound (A7X) I recommend you go with the Ks.

At first I wasn't crazy about the ride, seemed too "crashy" at first but after playing it for a bit I figured out how to get that nice ride ping out of it but can crash it when I want to.

The 18" crash is awesome as most people have stated, excellent medium / dark sound for me. The 16" crash is probably the weakest (kind of high pitched) of the set but still sounds great for 90s music or punk.

The hi-hats are amazing, can't imagine playing on anything else now.

I waited a long time for these and I wasn't let down at all when I got them.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

As a drummer of 10 years it was nice to finally get a full, matched set. I was used to random cymbals and this set is an excellent upgrade. It provides a clean, consistent professional sound. The only downside I've noticed (and it's just a personal thing) is that they may sound too clean and standard, and therefore...typical. But I'm sure i'll get used to it. If you're not in the moarket for the Custom K's but want a professional sound, this is the set!

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I got this pack as part of my first kit, just to fill it with cymbals, and I wanted high quality cymbals that could be used in multiple musical settings. This pack was an irresistible deal, as you save a lot compared to buying these separately. I was amazed with the quality and versatility of the A Custom series. The crashes are full, explosive, the 16" has a very bright tone while the 18" has a darker tone. The sustain is fairy short, but not to the point where each hit sounds choked. The hats, when played closed, have a tight, light click perfect for softer music, but when played open have a full, washy sound. The bell on the hats is surprisingly piercing. The ride is my least favorite of the bunch, as you have to play softly or with light sticks to get a well defined ping. However it is still bright enough and has decent enough stick articulation to hear each hit even when blast beating. It also has a nasty sounding dark crash, but be careful of breaking sticks. I added a Meinl Classics bell over the ride's bell because it sounds to similar to the rest of the cymbal. However, it still beats 90% of the other rides out there, and you can't beat the quality at this price. These cymbals are awesome! I have used many different size sticks and have found them to be capable in any genre, from jazz to extreme metal. I have used and abused these for the 9 months I've had them, and one could hardly tell save for a little scuffingt, but they polish up to that brilliant shine like I first got them. I will continue to use these until they give out, which may be in several years judging by the quality. I highly recommend these to players who like to play multiple styles and get a good sound in any application. I have added other Zildjians, Sabians, and Meinls to my kit, and still think the A Customs sound the best.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I have owned these cymbals for around two years, and over all, i would give them a 4.5 rating, but since the option isn't available, ill stick with a 5. They are wonderful cymbals, and are excellent cymbals for the price you pay.
First off, the hats. Personally, I like them, i would give them a 4.5 overall. I play a lot of gigs where i mic them, so i love the sound they give over a system, especially when they are opened. Playing without mics is a tad different. I still LOVE the sound they give off when left open, but they also do not have the greatest sound closed.
The 20' ride is a good cymbal, a solid 4. When played on as a crash ride, it has a really heavy sound, so heavy that it's almost washy or dull, but it fits and sounds perfect. Other times the cymbal sounds great. My only complaint is that the bell doesnt have a strong ping to it.
The 16' crash is a solid 5. It has a warm and light sound to it, and its beautiful if you want something bright.
The 18' cymbal is phenomenal. I would give it a 10 out of 5. It is perfectly dark, and it gives off a powerful attack. It is easily the best cymbal i have ever played, hands down. I would repurchase this pack again just for this cymbal.

              A Custom Review

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

Overall I am super excited that I got this pack and I would recommend it to anyone! The Value of what your getting is phenomenal! If your considering stepping up from the ZBT's But don't want to break the bank then A customs are the way to go!
The great features include the ping of the 20in ride and the crash of the 18in! It's awesome! Most importantly the hi-hats are smooth and play really well. Not choppy like the ZBT's. One downside is the 14in crash. The pitch is a bit unfocused but, hey, it goes great with a fast rock song.
Obviously with Zildjian, you can't go wrong when it comes to quality..
Packs are always a great way to save money, plus if your smart like me, you wait until musicians friend is having a 10-20% off discount. It just makes for an overall great deal!

These cymbals are great. The hi-hats sound great, even when they are open. The 16 inch crash is great, nice high pitched crash makes a great contrast to the 18 inch. The 18 inch is a beauty. It is one of the best cymbals ibe played on, perfect balance. The 20 inch ride is decent. has a good sound to it, bell is nice. Only down side is the long decay time of everything with the exception of the ride bell. If you can overlook that (which i can, being as my bandmates have very loud Marshal amps which kinda drown away all but the inital sound.

              Love of My Life

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

This pack is an amazing upgrade to get away from the crappy stater packs at a great value if you like really bright response and sound quality. So if your on the fence with wondering weather to spend the money on these listen to that little devil on your shoulder telling you yes because you won't regret it.
Very bright and explosive! I've had this pack for about 6 months now and have been very impressed. I originally played these in a local music store years ago and played many others as well and told myself to remember the names of these cause I got chills when I heard them. They have a very Travis Barker feel to them. The only thing I have negative to say Is I'm not very big on the Medium ride but love the bell's contrast against my "PinG" ride. Hi hats have a unique "Cha-Cha" and the open isn't sloppy like most. My favorite Crashes if you like to stand out and they complement the "K Custom" Hybrid splash very well!
I play very hard, in fact my band mates always yell at me to play softer and these have held up the the hell I have given them. They don't corrode fast either.
You cant beat the price of these especially for the quality. You will be impressed. From an armature and professional level.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

The only reason I ordered a 'cymbal pack' is because of budget constraints, and being in a hurry to upgrade from my ZHT's. They aren't bad for the money, but I was blown away when I received my A Customs (2 full days sooner than promised!) I put the cymbals on their stands, and commenced on giving them a work-out. WOW! The 20" medium ride has a nice "ping" to it and a clear, high-pitched bell, which is something I cherish in a ride cymbal. The 14" standard hi-hats have a very pleasant, musical "chick" sound when played by the foot, and a solid, loud 'bark".The 18" standard crash is work of art, with a beautiful, full, shimmering explosion of sound; very impressive. The 16"standard crash lived up to my expectations with a loud, clear higher-pitched crash sound that sounded more "musical" than I expected from a small crash. I would have hand-picked each and every one of these cymbals on their own merit individually. I highly recommend these cymbals,Buy Them!

Idk.... ...But on the other hand!!

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I have had these for the since February 2011, and I was excited when I bought them. I also bought the 8" splash. But once I played on the hi hats and ride, I said to myself "wow I am taking these cymbals back." The hi hats sound "disgusting" (if that makes sense) they have a horrible tone to them going into an close/open hi hat. But now since months been by and I've been messing with them(hand prints, wear and tear) they have been sounding better. Now to the ride, the 20" ride rings forever, and ever, and ever... That's really the only thing bad about it, other than that it has a nice "ping" to it. The 16" crash has a very bright sound to it. Last but not least, the 18" crash. This thing is a beauty. It has an amazing sound to it as soon as you take it out of the packaging.

The reason why I gave it an 8 is because of the Hi hats at the beginning. But when cymbals are played more they get a "warmer" tone to them.
