I've been playing zildjian since I've started playing drums. However, this pack out of zildjian is by far the best you'll wanna play. These cymbals take a little more force to make sound out of but if you're playing in a fairly bigger venue they're nice. I just don't feel like i get the same power out of the a customs. I bought these cymbals one by one because I had not known about this pack, but this is a good deal!
The zildjian a series box set is a great deal, the cymbals sound awesome. The ride has a nice ping and a LOUD bell, the 16in crash has a great sound without being to high pitched but its bell is kind of weak, the 18in crash also sounds great and it has a humongous bell, even though the bell is big it still isnt the strong. The new beat hihats have a really good "chick" sound and a great open sound. (overall this is a great cymbal set made by the best cymbal company in the world)
These cymbals are phenomenal worth the money. I love these cymbals hold up incredibly well, mine have been giged rained on even dropped and they play beautifully. I can't imagine a better set of cymbals. The ride has a very nice tone for playing it like a ride or crashing. And you got to love the thin crashes. And best of al you get new-beat hi-hats if your looking at outfitting your set these are a must have!
I bought this pack along my new drumset. I moved all my set to the band's studio, and I wanted just a small set and few cymbals to study and practice at home. I just played the first gig with this... I did not imagine this were the LOUDEST cymbals I ever had. They are very versatile, the rid can be loud and heavy, or smooth and low. It has a great ping, the bell is not it's strength, but it is ok. Crashes explode when they barely smell the stick, the bell for these is cool. The hi hat has a powerfull "chick" sound, semi opened, the are very heavy, but easy to handle if you want to open or close quickly. This is real shiny, so it is perfect for live playing for the looks. Might be a little expensive, bit each dollar is worth it. The bag is very well made, with reinforced base, and the straps are cushioned, so you are not harmed when carrying it (and allowing you to carry stuff in your hand, since the straps are back-pack like)
