I got these cymbals for christmas, and thought they don't look to up-to-snuff, but i wrong like crazy! They really rock! The Hats sound beautiful, nice "chick" and "slosh" sounds. So does the fast crash! The only complaint is that the bell for the ride isn't THAT loud, but it gets the job done nicely. The medium thin crash also sounds great. If you have the cash, buy these cymbals! Thanks.
I wasnt shure if I wanted the A customs or the A's.Well obviously I chose the A's and it was a great choice. The Hi-Hats are great they have a good ''chick'' and ''slosh'' sound to them. The 16' and 14' crash's are the best. You dont have to bash them to get the crash sound like my friends Z customs. The ride cymbal has a little more wash sound then a ping sound. Some people dont like that but I prefer it.Hope this helps you
I just bought these cymbals, and they don't sound the 'best' but, I've read many reviews, and talked to other drummers, and they said that these cymbals are pure quality when they are more used. The ride out of the box sounds really bad though, might have to break it in alot more
I got these as a Christmas present in '07, and they are great! I use them with the drum set at my church. I love the crisp sound of the hi-hats, and the sound of the crashes are awesome too. The ride could be better, or at least the bell on it, other than that, this is a great deal! I also suggest getting the A Zildjian 10" splash with these! It blends well with this pack!
I just upgraded an old drumset with these & am somewhat impressed. The crash & high hat cymbals are very crisp & smooth at the same time. They work well playing in a Classic Rock/Pop band & are keepers. But I didn't like the ride. The bell sounds mushy with too many overtones. The package as a whole is worth it but I will be selling or trading the ride.
I bought this set with the free 14 crash and travel bag. I could not be happier. The 14 crash is high and light and dies quickly. No need for a splash. The 16 crash comes over the top but not tinny. The hi-hats have a great chic chic and the ride is a little darker but that's what I like. Recording with these exposes their true quality. Travel bag too!
I got these when the entire packe was 499$ but its still a great deal. The 16" med thin crash is the most versatile crash I have ever used. I love these cymbals and if you are contemplating whether or not to get these, I say go for these. But now that these are about the same price as the A customs, I would consider those too. It just depends on the sound you prefer but these sound awesome.
I got this cymbal pack a couple months ago. The 16 inch medium thin crash sounds incredible, 14 inch new beat hi hats are nice and crisp and sound just beautiful. The 20 inch ride is mediocre. I expected it to be more crisp with lots of stick definition, but it has lots of overtones and in my opinion is a little to washy. I taped a cymbal felt to the cymbal and it helps a little bit. Some people might like the washy cymbal sound though. It's just a matter of opinion. I have started to appreciate the washy sound of the ride more and more, but I am still a little dissapointed. If you want a brighter sound, I would recomend the A customs, but these cymbals will perform well in almost any application.
I use these cymbals for jazz band and they are amazing! The ride is relatively dark, just perfect for jazz. The hats have a great chick that really stands out. The crash is my favorite. It has a fast response. It is loud, and cuts through the rest of the band. Great Cymbals.
