Being recently diagnosed with CTS I am a sad camper. I decided to try these sticks out and have seen about a 25% IMPROVEMENT of not getting numb during shows or afterwards. The rest has to do with technique, bracing myself, and warming up.
Unfortunately when they break, they break. At $10+ a pair that gets expensive and usually I can only get 2-3 gigs out of them before they are toast. I often add electrical tape around the stick or grab some stick wrap for extra protection and shock absorption. It takes time to get used to the hardened exterior and the light weight of the core but after awhile it becomes second nature. Do I like the feel as good as standard 5A hickory? No. But I do what I have to, to help with my condition.
Take care of your hands!! I can't stress this enough! Warm up, use proper stick technique, and take adequate breaks! Drink enough water to hydrate your body! If you are having issues, remember to take Ibuprofen before AND after shows or practices. 800mg. And ice AFTER, not BEFORE you play. This will allow your muscles and nerves to properly heal and rest. Happy drumming!

BEST REVIEW HERE: These drumsticks are made with a hollowed out butt with a rubber bead-like strand inside it about 1.5 inches long. The only reason that i know this is because they fell out within the first day. At first i thought these drumsticks would be amazing and ended up buying about 7 pairs.. I play on an electric kit (even less vibration than an acoustic kit) and they do reduce vibration alot but once the rubber bead strand fell out, the vibration of the stick was 10 times worse than a regular drumstick. The rubber fell out of every single drumstick that i had; making them worthless. You can try shoving them back into the butt but they just fall back out almost immediately. It's very noticeable when the rubber falls out also, it gives the stick the sound of a cracked drumstick and you can also feel it. Playing with the drumsticks without the rubber in it is just terrible, I have all 7 pairs where the rubber came out from playing and these are absolutely the worst drumsticks i have ever purchased.

Comments about Zildjian Anti-Vibe Drumsticks:
After reading several reviews, I decided to buy 2 pair....one for use, the other for backup, as several other commenters complained of breaking sticks after just a few gigs. They must really beat the hell out of them, because I've use one pair for 10 gigs, and haven't broken them or had the rubber fall out as others have complained about.
If there is a negative, it's the slick finish on the stick. The first time I went out to the crash cymbal, I almost lost it. Other than that, they're great sticks.
Pros
- Absorbs Shock
- Easy Sticking
- Functional
- Helps With Cts Numbing
Cons
- Almost Uneven Rubber Core
- Expensive
- Hard to find
- Odd-feeling Weight
- Takes Time To Get Used To

Comments about Zildjian Anti-Vibe Drumsticks:
Excellent hickory wood with less shock to my hands. Like i said earlier, i would love to see these dipped as well as the other WONDERFUL dipped sticks that Zildjian makes. Anything that Zildjian makes is Quality ! I use their sticks, cymbals & cymbal case and have been delighted with all their products. Would love to get a set of their ~ A Custom Cybal Set w/ their Mastersound 14" Hi-Hat set to make all my cymbals sound musically great together. It will happen !!!
I have been using Zildjian drumsticks fo a long time. Until recently, i have been using 5B dipped because they feel wonderful in my hands. I have severe carpal tunnel in both of my hands, and recently had surgery in my left one. This has not stopped me & will not until i can not hold them anymore. So i bought these Ant-Vibe sticks to see if they would help cause they were suggested by my cousin that has been playing for twenty some years. They were AMAZING ! I play in the Worship band at our church "The Bridge", and practice every week in my garage for a few hours. My hands and fingers did not get tingle or get numb the whole time playin, even with a lot of work on my Zildian cymbals. The only thing i would like to see for the sticks, are to have them dipped instead of me wrapping them.
Comments about Zildjian Anti-Vibe Drumsticks:
I have not had any bad experience with these sticks. The rubber plugs are not falling out. The playing time is no longer shortened by forearm pain. I feel that I am playing an acoustic set with these sticks and it really sounds like it. The sonic results are very natural. Of course, it helps that the set has Roland samples.
I have used rotational balanced sticks (hard to find). RB's are great for acoustic drums, but hard to use with pads. I now have a Roland V-rums compact set. The snare is mesh, but the toms are rubber pads. I had a hard time playing fills with the pads. These sticks allow me to strike the V-drums with the same resultant feel as RB's on acoustics. Better still, the weight distribution allows for better articulation playing ghost notes on the snare and better buzz rolls. The sensitivity of the playing is now the same or sometimes better than with acoustic drums.
excellent balance of the two sticks in the pair. I wish the tips were nylon. They are wood and very small which may lead to more rapid wear. Time will tell.....
A bit on the expensive side, but worth it for the advantages listed above.
Comments about Zildjian Anti-Vibe Drumsticks:
As stated above I love the quality and the way that these sticks feel.
I bought these for my electronic Roland kit, but then I started using them on my Acoustic kit and I love them even better there. These sticks are truly a pleasure to play with and long practice sessions or gigs are now easier on my hands and wrists. Highly recommended.
Excellent stick quality well balanced and good tone matching on the pairs I have. The logo rubs off after about an hour of playing but that is ok with me. Some people have mentioned the plug coming out of the end, but I have never had one single plug come out. I am waiting to break one so that I can find out what is inside these sticks.
If you are interested in saving your wrists and hands these are a must buy.
Comments about Zildjian Anti-Vibe Drumsticks:
I bought a set of the 5As after I injured my wrist last year. I play mainly on practice pads and an electronic kit and I had reached the point where I could play less than 20 minutes on either without significant pain. When I saw these, I figured I would give them a try, but I really didn't think they would make any difference. I was totally wrong. These sticks are unbelievable. The vibration reduction is phenomenal, and other than that they feel just like a regular stick. The first day I had them I played almost 2 hours totally pain free. That right there is worth the price. If you have chronic joint pain while drumming, you definitely need to try these. I only have one pair, but I haven't had any issues with breakage or the anti-vibe inserts coming lose. Also, I gave them a try on my friend's Rock Band 3 drum pads and they worked great. I've never written a review before, but these stick made such a difference for me that I wanted to share my experience. These are going to be the only sticks I buy for a very long time.
Comments about Zildjian Anti-Vibe Drumsticks:
I bought these due to chronic arthropathies related to overuse (messed up joints from drumming). I was initially skeptical, but they have truly changed the future of my drumming...I can play longer without pain PERIOD. If that's not worth it I don't know what is. The rebound from these sticks is on par with any other stick as well contrary to what some have said on here. I don't like the tip and have had the rubber fall out of the bottom, but overall...I'm never gona use anything else again.
Comments about Zildjian Anti-Vibe Drumsticks:
I bought these drumsticks to reduce the vibration I was feeling from using Vic's. These sticks reducing vibration completely. Additionally, they are much lighter than most sticks and allow you to play much faster. The only downside is the rubber inserts at the bottom can detach from the stick and fall out but you can easily fix that with some tape around the bottom. Buy these Sticks!!!
