Comments about Zildjian John Riley Artist Series Drumsticks:

The Riley Sticks have a nice feel to them and are very articulate on cymbals. I do a lot of Jazz playing and used to use the original ProMark Elvin JOnes Model. When that model changed I needed to find something that would work. These sticks fit the bill nicely.

John Riley Signature Sticks

By Michael Walker

from Hays, Kansas

Comments about Zildjian John Riley Artist Series Drumsticks:

These sticks are very versatile and great in the practice room and on the stage. I normally play a lot of big band jazz so I've been using AJ-1s. While AJ-1s are light and flexible, their biggest drawback is that over extended use they wear away, especially if you play with a group that requires a lot of projection, such as a big band. These John Riley sticks offer the best of both worlds. They're small with the long and thin tip, allowing for great contact and projection, but the stick itself is dense feels very sturdy. What you end up with is a very reliable stick and one that feels good to play.

A great choice for anyone who needs to buy sticks on a budget.

super dense, quick response, and great projection!

Comments about Zildjian John Riley Artist Series Drumsticks:

I play 7as, and they don't always project the drum sounds through pa speakers and amps, but they feel great to me when I play. I have to sacrifice projection for my own feel and speed. Heavier sticks like 5as are the right weight to get a thicker sound out of the drums, but are cumbersome and clumsy for the style of playing I enjoy. These John Riley Sticks are the best of both worlds. They are I think heavier than a 5a 5b, but in between a 5a and a 7a and are longer. the density of the hickory is incredibly thick. These move in my hands like a 7a but have an even greater density than a 5a, and the sound they project out of the drums is out in front of the speakers and amps if not right there in the mix. Great product like everything Mr. Riley puts his hands on. It is the midis touch of drum sticks, because every lick turns to gold!
