Comments about Zildjian K Constantinople Crash:

I am I guess a fusion drummer. The cymbal I feel would be best suited for a jazz setting. The cymbal doesn't work for me playing pop music or heavy music.

Comments about Zildjian K Constantinople Crash:

I am in love with this line of cymbals. I will say though this cymbal is very loud and bright. No need to lay into this one for most pop music. Perfect for fusion settings. I wouldn't use this cymbal for heavy metal playing.

Comments about Zildjian K Constantinople Crash:

I was in the market to replace some of my old cymbals, that were very cheap. Along with the Constantinople hi-hats, I also picked up the 17" crash. I expected them to complement each other very well and this crash sounded very good. Now the ideal use for these cymbals is always listed as Jazz, but I'm playing extreme metal. I don't play a kit nearly as heavy as some of the drummers I know out there and since I have a lighter touch, I wasn't worried about breaking these thinner cymbals. For reference, it took me nearly a decade to finally break one of the old ZBT starter cymbals from Zildjian, and I never broke the hi-hat or 14"! So, I was confident I could use the Constantinople series and they do sound excellent. While I loved the hi-hats, I'm not as in love with the crash. The main obstacle I find is with the way it responds to the moments where you want basically "ride the crash" for a while. The first hit is always excellent sounding, but successive hits seem to interrupt the longer sustain this cymbal seems to have. I think I'm going to switch over to A-Customs as a future purchase for my purposes and use this Constantinople crash to accent different moments to give them a bit of a darker feel when I need it. This crash isn't as dark as the K-Dark's and I find it to have a bit of a brighter tone behind it, not as bright as A's, but are definitely a great in between feel. So, while I'm not going to use it for my initial idea, I still think this series sounds extremely beautiful.

Comments about Zildjian K Constantinople Crash:

I have owned other crash cymbals from Zildjian. This cymbal, upon initial inspection seemed really light in weight, so I wasn't sure what to expect. What I have found is when it is used as a short crash (almost a splash) it has a remarkable clarity and tone. I compared it to my A Zildjian 16" Thin Crash and the Constantinople has a higher pitch and very short sustain - almost as if you were to strike it and then choke the sound with your hand. If you could only have one crash - this should be the one.
