I tried this at my friend's house. They stunk. The Crash/Ride sound like a China that stops too fast. The HI-HAT sounds like a annoying bell. Get ZBT's!
The crash that comes with this set is total crap. It sounds awful. The hihat is actually not that bad though.
This cymbals are really nice and sound great. This cymbals are great for starters and better players. I got them to replace my old crapy cymbals. Get them.
Ok I do not own these, but I know someone who has them. I am normally a guitarist but, I know what drums should sound like. DO NOT GET THESE IS YOU WANT SOMETHING TO LAST!!!!! These have the worst sound in the world. The hi-hat sounds more like an annoying splash that is muffled. I have to agree it's like an annoying bell. THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT!!! DO NOT GET PLANET Z. GET ZILDJIAN'S!! DONT GET PLANET Z!! (its more like planet Zzzzzzzz)
These are awesome for the money. I got these with my Ludwig last year, they are still holding up! Time to upgrade though. I will not forget these cymbals, they really are great. The hats are sweet for quiet or loud situations, and the crash ride is bright and shimmering. If you are just starting out, have a set and want some cymbals, then buy these. Great for the cash!
O.K. people, If you dont own it, how do you know so much about them? I recently bought the z4 pack and yes, at first impression I fond them strange, but if you actually give them a chance, they can be a VERY versitale set of solid cymbals. and what the heck... they ARE durable, not flimsy at all!
Firstly i only have the 18" ride because i bought it speratly.....its ok, but it really dissapoints me when i use heavier sticks. The only way to make it sound good is buy using a light stick with a plastic tip. They are brilliant for latin rock (santana), but useless for metal because they do not produce a havier sound although the bell is very responsive.
OK so one of my friends has these cymbals and thy completely fail. They are the worst sounding cymbals that I have ever played. If I were you I would buy sabian B8 series cymbals. I own these and I have had them for 3 years and I still use them along with my paragons. The b8 crashes sound great and are a little bit more money, but totally worth it.
