I recieved this cymbal package for Christmas a year and a half ago and these cymbals are still in excellent shape! First of all, these cymbals are loud....plain and simple..they were designed mainly for rock and distortion..but they are excellent for blues, funk, and many others...they even perform well in ambience....the only thing I noticed is that the splash isn't quite as "splashy" as I'd prefer. But you cant expect a good "splash" out of a 12 incher...just doesn't happen....but it works excellent for accenting fills and dynamics. The fast crash in this set is amazing!! The tone is simply unmatched in the zildjian series..but be careful and dont ride it very much because this is a fast crash!! It wasn't meant to be beaten like crazy...too thin and tone isn't as powerful....but! You definately should ride the 16 incher...but with moderate poundage...this cymbal is simply unmatched when it comes to cutting through the music with power, because it does just that. Dont worry about cracking it because you'd have to bust out some arnold crap for it to crack even a little. Overall this package is all about the dynamic drummer...if you play styles of music where volume is increased/decreased frequently, this is the BEST package....first, you have the 12" splash. Excellent for accents and tasty fills during a verse, then you have the fast crash, this beat is for building up to the verse,or just plain accenting during the chorus, then you have the 16"....this beast is insane, used once everything has kicked in and it's just plain rock carnage on stage....so finally I'd have to say this package is definately worth every penny.

Well, I don't personally own any myself, but I was playing a show last week and The drumset I was using had 4 of these (12" splash 16,18,19 crash). I had never played any and i was thrilled to death to play them. I wasn't that impressed. The have a lot of ring and just sound like metal. I'll stick to my A customs and A's please.

I bought this cymbal pack about 3yrs ago and I absolutely love them. The 18" I use more as a crash/ride and it does amazing at cutting through the heavy rock I play, and the 16" compliments it quite well for me. I incorporated the 12" with my other two splashes and found some good uses for it even though I don't use the 12 as much, just another color. Overall though it was the best cymbal investment that I ever made, and even though the 16 has a long crack in it on the inside it still holds up! I highly recommend this package!
This is by far the best set of cymbals I have ever used. That sound better than anything you can find in the same price range and even higher. They can really take a beating, too! Recommended for sure!!!
and very nice cymbals, but if you're gonna be playing in a room smaller than 50 foot by 50 foot, you're gonna get annoyed having to wear headphones and your girlfriend is gonna get annoyed thinking that you're ignoring her if you loose your hearing, because you will loose your hearing if you play these in a small room without some type of ear protection, especially if you play as loud and heavy as I do. The 18" is pretty dark and deep and doesn't really sound too good when I play Worship/Indie.
I bought this pack about two years ago. I really love the 18" that came with it. The rare cymbal that's built solid as an ox, yet still sounds great. However, I'm not as satisfied with the 16". It's definitely built solid, but personally I find it too high-pitched. If you hit the two together it sounds great, but without the 18", the 16" is weak, doesn't cut through, and frankly sounds more like a toy than a cymbal. I've been heavily influence by Dave Grohl, so I try to go for the thundering low-pitched crash sounds that he gets. If you're the same way, buy the 18". I'll probably end up selling the 16" and the splash (which I never use) for a bigger Z or maybe an A Custom.
I have had them for a little over a year now. It was a good investment. They do ring quiet a lot but the sound you get out of them is great. I also purchased a z custom power ride and that was great to. I recommend these if you want to be loud. The 18 inch crash is a good crash ride that is sustained.
I've had these cymbals for a few years now and they are durable, brilliant, and nice. I have played most Zildjian products and these are among my favorites for a drumkit. I added a regular 16" A Zildjian cymbal to the mix and I would not change a thing! You can tell if you look closely at the cymbals that they have micro grooves that embellish the sound and make them vibrate in a more musical manner! They sound great when recorded or when played live!
these cymbals are awesome, they took a little getting use to since i use to play hhx series sabain cymbals. The one thing i liked more about the hhx series is that when you barely hit them they sound like a crash, but with these since they are so thick they kind of sound like a ride. the bells are also a little small so when playing accentational cymbal work its a little hard to hit the bells. Other then those two complaints these cymbals rock when crashing them they resonate soo much better than other crashes. The craftsmanship is beautiful and they are amazing just to look at. I love the punch they add to my drums. If your looking zildjian i would deff recommend these cymbals and at this price its steal.
I have always been interested in changing out my zildjians to Z Customs...until I played a full mix of them today...high hat, 12 inch crash, 16 in crash, 22 inch ride...If you play rock and just want to beat them for the whole show, this is your cymbal! If you are a "musical" percussionist and want to get more decay and definition to your cymbals, go for the A Customs. In a HUGE PA, all these crashes sounded the same except for my A Custom, it was clear and has much for character to it. Would STRONGLY recommend atleast playing with 1 of each on the same size/type to fit your style but if you can't afford to do both because we all know they are HIGH, then get the A Customs.
I bought these cymbals about 5 months ago.. they're very vibrant and cut through anything you're playing. The 16" and the splash have held out perfectly, but the 18" cracked after about 2 months. I sent it in and with in 2 weeks i got a new one. Gotta love the 1 year warranty. I recommend these cymbals to anyone who is crashless and needs a good starting set.
My friend has these cymbals for his set. I needed a set for a gig once and he let me use his kit. He's a smart guy, and his cymbals reflected that. They were by far the most outstanding part of his kit. They were pretty and powerful. They also sound great if you play them in ascending order at the end of a phrase.
