I have owned these hi-hats for a year and a half and they still do the trick. nice crisp sound and a penetrating sound when you accent them. Make sure that you have a good strong stand with them becasue they are heavy
I have had my 14in. Z Custom hi hats for about three years and they look and sound like they did the day i got them. I joined my band about ten months ago and we do nothing but practice for hours. I need hi hats that can handle my aggression and that can overcome the volume of two marshalls, an swr bass cab, and a PA. These hats rock!!!!
I've used this for about seven or eight months now, and to me it is the most metallic sounding crispy cymbal sound that there can be. And it has a nice and heavy sound to it to because it is. Excellent piece of equipment to have!
I bought the 14' a year ago, they are just awesome, the sound is perfectly trashy, a few weeks ago a got a 13' Zildjian K hybrid, and for metal, it wouldn't do the job as the Z custom does. It is simply perfect. If you play Trash Metal, Hard Rock or any Heavy style, this are perfect.
if you are an experienced drummer looking to take the next step forward and want that extra good sound, then you need to get these cymbals. these are the absolute best
these hats are the best for a drummer who needs a multi-applicational setting. if its open, you can get a more hard metal grunge sound, once closed you can get articulate and pronounced with the advantage of the loud level of volume. and open on wash you can get the sound you need, although loud but beat-keeping. i suggest anyone wishing to have a loud, agressive hat that has too many features to count. it's a good intermediate hat to buy so the drummer can decide what kind of sound they want and what fits their style and reflects their own personality the best.
I've owned these for about 5 years now and they've stood up to all the beating that I can give them! They've been dropped out of trucks, rolled around club floors, and they've remained top notch!
Even though I don't personally own a pair of these hats, I can honestly say they are very unique and have a great sound. They are a little lower pitched, but have a very trashy sound when played open. And in this case, trashy is good. I've never heard a pair of hats with more response than these.
I've owned these for about 4 1/2 years or so. I'm more of a technical drummer so I don't lay into these too hard, nevertheless they've stood up through many shows and recording sessions as well as in my home. These hats have excellent volume, a nice "chick" when closed, and a pretty short wash decay when half-open. A little too loud for some genres, but excellent response.
It's a great cymbal for rock music, I have owned it for 3-4 months and am very pleased with it.
