This is a good, solid set of cymbals for getting started. They came with my Ludwig Accent kit, so it wasn't a conscious choice to get them, but I've been pleasantly surprised. Good sound out of all pieces. I got another 14" crash because I liked the bright, fast-decaying sound, and the second one gives a slightly different tone. Took some time for them to "play" into their best sound, but for the price you can't get any better. My kit has a combination of ZBTs and ZHTs and I they make for a nice variety of sounds, tones, and accents.

I've played Zildjian cymbals for over 30 years and they are still my favorites. But these entry level ZBT's are not worthy of the name. I had to play on them recently on the house set at a blues club, and I felt they sounded pretty bad. If you're just starting out, you can put some good heads on cheap drums and tweak the sound so that it is decent, but there is no way to improve the sound of a lousy cymbal. Try the Meinl or Wuhans in this price range. Or save up and get some real Zildjians.

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

I receivced this pack of cymbals for Christmas 4 years ago when i originally started drumming. Not bad for beginning drummers. They sound Ok for the price, the price is also really good for a starter set like these. The only thing i don't like about them is that they break after about 6 months, or so mine did after buying them 3 times... Big Mistake! I now use these cymbals for when i don't want to kill my A Customs (also by Zildjian). This review is going off of the 16" Crash, 13" hi hats (i still use these as my main hi hats) and 18" crash/ride. If you are a beginning drummer or even intermediate and do not have much $ for cymbals... Get these.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

To all you people praising these cymbals, Do you have ears? Serious question.

Well, anyone with ears can tell these cymbals are just the weakest," grossest sounding cymbals out there. They are just terrible.

Don't be misled by the ""do not own the product""", please. I have played on the set of these ZBTs my church bought for their youth worship band. I'm no expert," but I have been playing long enough to discern good sounds from bad ones. These are just not good for anything at all except perhaps something to put dampeners on to play quietly (just something to be in the way of your stick in order to practice) or to put on a small child's mini drumset...I don't really want you to get these because you will need others right when you get them because you will cringe at their lackluster tone.

Really. This is the most basic situation of ""SAVE UP SOME MONEY"" if it means not getting cymbals for maybe another few months", IT'S WORTH IT. Please. You'll have to turn around and drop more money on other cymbals. Don't waste the money you've already saved up.

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

I have been playing Drums for 38 years, and I never comment on equipment, until I have had a chance to use it, not on first impression !!! I got this Cymbal pack 2 years ago, and have been using them regularly since !!! While I believe in playing my drums not beating them, when I jam I jam !!! This set has absolutely exceeded my expectations !!! I thought the 14" would be the first to go, but that little joker is tough !!! It's loud and crisp, and cuts right through the music when we jam !!! The 18" depending on how you play it, is either warm and full, or radical and loud, you decide !!! The High Hats are powerful enough and have a good chick !!! Coming out of retirement and jamming again, for the money you pay for these guys, if you aren't pleased with this value and sound, you can't be pleased !!! They will make a good addition to your set !!! Check them out !!!

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

i bought these cymbals about 5 months ago along with the warenty. the only thing i am impressed with is the bell on the crash/ride. over the 5 month period of owning these i have had to send my 14in crash in 2 times, and i need to send it in again. the price looks is low, but so are the quality of these cymbals. these are okay for begginers. and they are not meant to be hit hard at all.

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

I'm not a great drummer, but the person who recommended these cymbals to me is. While I do agree with him that the tones of the cymbals aren't very complex and they tend to have a sort of gong-like element which is apparent when played by themselves, they do not have the harshness and edginess that other cheap cymbals do. They blend well with playing in a rock band and my drummer is currently using them as his back-up kit and he makes them sound great. I have also been told that they cymbals will continue to mellow out as they become tarnished played more, which will likely help since the hi-hats are a little loud and clunky sounding.

The free 14" crash is a good value at this price; it is my least favorite of the crew, but it's nice to have the option to have another tone to work with.

    Alright set for a beginner

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

I bought this set about two and a half years ago and it has served me well until now. I always took care of my cymbals and they took care of me, but about 6 months ago I noticed that the crash cymbal was starting to form a crack, which then developed into a gaping gash and thus my crash was ruined. However, zildjian sent me a replacement and I was happy for about two months until that one began to crack and developed into a gash as well! I love zildjian though so I am instead going to buy an A custom 16' crash to replace this ZBT. The sound quality is alright, you pay for what you get essentially. The ride actually has a surprisingly nice sound, but the crash is a wee bit muddy and has a long ring to it. The hi-hats are too thick for me, but that's just my opinion, I like a thinner hi-hat.So the moral of this story is that this set is for beginners, it will only last you for a while if you practice and play a lot like I did and then it will wear out. It will bide your time until you need to upgrade to nicer equipment.

    ZBT Starter Pack

    By Mark Nelson

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

The ZBT cymbals do not have the same sound made by the ZHTs or the Z Custom but for the price they are very good...
Great starter pack for new set or to rebuild an older set like I did...
The ZBT cymbals have a good sound but they have to be hit firm to get a good sound. Again, it is a good starter set.
Pieced together this kit saves you a little more, so adding to the value of the pack...

Comments about Zildjian ZBT 3 Starter Bonus Cymbal Pack with Free 14" Crash:

    Overall - they work.
It's nice getting hi hats, a crash, and a crash/ride all in one. It's also nice that they sound better than most cheap cymbals that come with drums.
They are not the best. You get what you pay for.
    Good value
