Zildjian

Intense ZBT sounds to start your set.

This Zildjian ZBT 3 Cymbal Pack includes an 18" crash ride and a pair of 13" hi-hats plus a free 14" crash. Sound grooves and round hammer strikes in a simple circular pattern on the top surface of ZBT cymbals magnify the basic sound of the distinctive ZBT alloy. ZBT Series Hi-Hats produce a sharp and focused sound with an excellent, bright chick sound. The ZBT crash ride cymbal produces a cutting ride sound with good crash qualities. The free 14" crash has a brilliant finish and provides easy playability—the perfect first crash cymbal.

The bright, intense, high-pitched sound of the Zildjian ZBT series cymbals cut through the mix. The sheet origin and lathing techniques create high-volume projection that speaks quickly and brightly when struck then decays rapidly. Since ZBT cymbals are pressed and lathed from sheets of uniform, high-quality bronze alloy, they are remarkably consistent.

The highly polished, brilliant finish looks fresh and offers excellent, clean stick articulation with controlled overtones. ZBT cymbals take Zildjian Bronze Technology up a notch with advanced hammering and lathing, and enhanced sound for versatility, musicality, and professional performance.

ZBT Starter Pack

| Review By: Mark Nelson | 4 months, 1 day ago

Features:

Great starter pack for new set or to rebuild an older set like I did...

Quality:

The ZBT cymbals have a good sound but they have to be hit firm to get a good sound. Again, it is a good starter set.

Value:

Pieced together this kit saves you a little more, so adding to the value of the pack...

Overall:

The ZBT cymbals do not have the same sound made by the ZHTs or the Z Custom but for the price they are very good...

I receivced this pack of cymbals for Christmas 4 years ago when i originally started drumming. Not bad for beginning drummers. They sound Ok for the price, the price is also really good for a starter set like these. The only thing i don't like about them is that they break after about 6 months, or so mine did after buying them 3 times... Big Mistake! I now use these cymbals for when i don't want to kill my A Customs (also by Zildjian). This review is going off of the 16" Crash, 13" hi hats (i still use these as my main hi hats) and 18" crash/ride. If you are a beginning drummer or even intermediate and do not have much $ for cymbals... Get these.

i bought these cymbals about 5 months ago along with the warenty. the only thing i am impressed with is the bell on the crash/ride. over the 5 month period of owning these i have had to send my 14in crash in 2 times, and i need to send it in again. the price looks is low, but so are the quality of these cymbals. these are okay for begginers. and they are not meant to be hit hard at all.

This is a good, solid set of cymbals for getting started.  They came with my Ludwig Accent kit, so it wasn't a conscious choice to get them, but I've been pleasantly surprised.  Good sound out of all pieces.  I got another 14" crash because I liked the bright, fast-decaying sound, and the second one gives a slightly different tone.  Took some time for them to "play" into their best sound, but for the price you can't get any better.  My kit has a combination of ZBTs and ZHTs and I they make for a nice variety of sounds, tones, and accents.

I've played Zildjian cymbals for over 30 years and they are still my favorites. But these entry level ZBT's are not worthy of the name. I had to play on them recently on the house set at a blues club, and I felt they sounded pretty bad. If you're just starting out, you can put some good heads on cheap drums and tweak the sound so that it is decent, but there is no way to improve the sound of a lousy cymbal. Try the Meinl or Wuhans in this price range. Or save up and get some real Zildjians.
