I ordered this ridiculously awesome cymbal pack about a week ago, along with 2 new Mapex stands for them (I'm gonna use the free Pulse stand-awesome stand btw-for the free 18" crash), and Sound Percussion drum and cymbal mutes for when my mom gets a headache from my drumming.Back to the cymbals. The hats are awesome, they have a nice, clean 'chick' when closed, and a loud, high pitched, clean open sound when they are opened. The 16" crash is loud, bold, bright, and I'm sure it's durable (because of it's thickness, and my awesome technique), and the bell sounds pretty cool. The decay is medium-long, but if you want to shorten it up just a bit, one small square of duct-tape will do the job(on the BOTTOM of the cymbal-for all you blondes out there). I haven't gotten the 18" crash yet (you have to mail in the rebate offer for it) but I'm sure it's gonna be just like the 16" but lower pitched. The sound clips on Zildjian.com are really good, and they are pretty darn accurate. The ride has a good, jazzy ride sound on the body, and using the shoulder of the drumstick, the bell has a loud, cutting, sharp, metallic sound. The ride has a mildly long decay, and that is fixed up a bit with a small square of duct-tape on either side of the bottom.Bottom line, great cymbals. This pack is any beginner's absolute best deal, and because of the 'rock' version of the ZBTs, these are thicker than the normal ZBTs, so they will last you longer. Plus these are awesome for intermediate drummers also. Awesome cymbals. Thank you Zildjian!! :-)

These cymbals are terrible. I've been playing drums for seven years now. These cymbals are not cutting enough for rock, loud enough for metal, bright enough for jazz, don't decay well for indie, whatever; you name it and these cymbals are bad. When we have rehearsal at my friends house, I use his amazing pearl set with these terrible cymbals he bought. The 16" just sounds weak and cheap, the hi hats are not tight or crisp, and regarding previous reviews, they DO NOT have a good chick, the ride is too bright and pingy (just not my taste) and the china DOES drown out the snare. These cymbals are for the untrained beginner's ear who can't tell they're bad.

There Is Better.

Well if you have just started they are reasonable. I have had mine for about a year and have Played many diferent cymbals and these are not that great they crack easy and dont got the best sound but good for beginners and if you dont got alot of cash. Tip if posible save for Zildjian A,K, or Z customs they will last longer and you get better sound.

Ehhh.... They're Okay...

By DUDE()STFU[DRUMNOOB^7

Well, the ZBT's sounded great out of the pack and for the next year they sounded good too. But it has been a little while now, like a year and a half to two years, and they cracked all over the place. They are good cymbals if you plan on replacing them often or if you like the crash sounding like a 5' splash.,..The china didnt hold up at all.

These own. The ride has a great sound to it. It's good for beginners, but anyone who uses them will sound amazing. The free stand I got with it also has really good quality.

Decent Enough

By Drummer111-uw4ig

from London

These cymbals are decent enough for what you pay for. The hi hats are actually quite good, a nice tight chic sound, the crash is very bad it is so bright it sounds more like a splash and has a fast decay. The ride is nice, but the bell isn't very clear cutting, could be a bit less washy but a small amount of duct tape/moongel will fix it up but if you do don't put too much on or it will make it sound dead.

they're ok for beginer cymbals

By TheWingless

from kansas city, KS

See all my reviews

Horrid cymbals for anyone but a beginer in thier first few months. I had got a free china with my set. The china was loud and covered up my snare and bass drum. Unpleasent low tones make the china unappealing. Hi-Hats were okCrash had low over tones, but overall okRide cymbal had an annoying tendancy to continue ringing after you had hit it. Even putting three thick stips of duct tape, it wouldn't dampen it. Go for the Zxt's if you are a beginer, besides they're a whole lot better for only a little more

zbt cymbal pack

By Buttchugger4000

from crossvegas, TN

I got these cymbals with my first kit and I gotta say they were okay. The rock crash sucked huge from the beginning (I've recently replaced it with an a series medium crash). Mine also came with a 14" zht fast crash and that is an amazing cymbal. But the ride is nice and pingy and has a nice bell (I've recently replaced it with a hh series ride) I like the hi hats okay. They're just a tad thick but I'm still using them. I also got a zbt splash which is awesome. Buy that cymbal if anything else.
