OVERVIEW

Diverse sounds from a single cymbal. A great all-purpose ride!

Sound grooves and round hammer strikes in a simple circular pattern on the top surface of ZBT cymbals magnify the basic sound of the distinctive ZBT alloy. The ZBT Crash Ride delivers a cutting ride sound with good crash qualities.

The bright, intense, high-pitched sound of the Zildjian ZBT series cymbals cuts through the mix of other instruments. Sheet origin and precision lathing techniques create high-volume projection that speaks quickly and brightly with a rapid decay. Since ZBT cymbals are pressed and lathed from sheets of uniform, high-quality bronze alloy, they are remarkably consistent. The highly polished, brilliant finish looks fresh. Superb all-purpose crash ride cymbal. Excellent, clean stick articulation with controlled overtones. ZBT-Plus cymbals take Zildjian Bronze Technology up a notch with advanced hammering and lathing, and enhanced sound for versatility, musicality, and professional performance.

This is a surprisingly very good crash/ride. These newer ZBT's (with the more pronounced lathing and the "Fat letter" logo) are much better than previous ZBT's, and are an excellent value for the money. While you are certainly not going to confuse this cymbal for a K. Constantinople, it is a very good cymbal in its own right. I will say that this makes a better light ride than a crash. It can be really big crash if you need it to be, but it can be a little harsh if you really wack it. I like the lightness of the stick on this ride, and it is subtle enough that you can "dig" the stick into it without it sounding overbearing. I put three rivets in it, and it really has a very pleasing. sizzling sustain, that's not too bright. It is subtle enough to use as a light ride on a coffee house jazz gig where volume is a concern (imagine saying that for previous versions of ZBT's). I also use it on a few slower tunes in my rock band, and has just enough balance between stick and wash to make it a good "second ride" choice.

Overall, this is a great value, and a nice sounding cymbal. It's darker than you would expect for a ZBT, and is really subtle, especially by ZBT standards. A few rivets will make this ride shine. This is an excellent, second or light ride choice, and can be a big (if not a little harsh) crash if you need some extra muscle. For the price, this is an excellent cymbal to add to your arsenal.

I'm a diehard Zildjian user thru and thru. My 1st drumset had old school ZBT's on it, they were thick, great sound, and good quality. I still use the high hats, ride and china. I recently bought 2 crash cymbals, a splash and a crash ride. The old crash ride I had lasted me for 4 years, as well as the near 10 years the prior owner had them. The new set I bought, I noticed the cymbal quality went way down, the cymbals are paper thin, and bend by hand very easily. Well needless to say the crash ride started severely cracking only after a month. I tried to continue to use it, but it got to the point where it sounded like hitting a wall. I will continue to use Zildjian cymbals, but now I will have to start buying the pricier models. Which was part of he plan anyways.

I should have looked at more cymbals before buying this. I bought this for the price to use for the ride and am disappointed. I'm not going into details other then it sucks as a ride. It's a crash only. I ended up buying the K series 20" rude for a lot more money and love it.

Got this cause I am now trying to have 3 crashes on my kit. Saw the cheaper price so I'm like, "Sweet! A 2 in 1 deal!" Not the case here folks. This cymbal may look like a beauty, but looks are also deceiving. As soon as I crashed during a test, it overtoned way too long, so classifying this cymbal as a crash is out. As a ride, all I hear is a bunch of buzzing noises. When I use a ride cymbal, I expect a rich sound that can sustain for some time, but this is just trash. Don't buy ZBT cymbals. Save for ZHT instead cause those are actually a lot better and still cheaper.

This a good cymbal overall. However, if you are a rock or metal drummer, this cymbal is not for you. But for jazz, funk, gospel, even country western drummers, this is a very nice cymbal
Great sounding crash and nice bell sound as well
Definately worth the money in my opinion

I got this when I was 14. It was my only option for a ride. You've never had to play on a good ride to tell that this thing kinda sucks. Really, it roars a you, and the overtones don't shut up! Also pretty bad stick definition. Now, K custom hybrid ride, there's something that rocks my world!

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Crash Ride Cymbal:

this cymbal would be a great crash, but there is no point in using it as a ride, because i took literally a 5 inch chunck out of the side of this thing. it could be my fault, because I hit VERY hard, but for how broken it is, its unusual. But if you use it as a crash, it should sound great

The ZBT's get knocked hard, but I own Zildjian Z custom, ZBT, and ZXT crashes, and a Wuhan china, and out of all of them, i still use the 18" ZBT crash/ride as my favorite Crash. It's got power of a crash, with the pitch beauty of a ride. I suggest it to any set ESPECIALLY STARTERS, or even Drum Veterans looking for another cymbal.

Good beginning cymbal, I now just use it as a VERY dark sounding crash, but you have to hit it pretty hard to get it to sound right. Good price, nice beginning cymbal, but if you have the money, get a better one.

This is actually the first cymbal that I bought to add onto my set. I kept hearing good things about the ZBT cymbals, and wanted to try them out for myself. I am really happy with the sound it makes. It really stands out and is great for more along the lines of hard rock. If you want a great cymbal for cheap, this is the one.

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Crash Ride Cymbal:

My friend owns this cymbal, I use it like everyday unfortunitly and I personally don't like it much. It is way too weak to be a Zildjian cymbal. I own Sabian AAX's and they have power. The ZBT's have no power at all. But I have to say when there is a guitar playing along it doesn't sound too bad in the mix as a crash. It's not loud enough though. And it's really crappy as a ride. Sound's just like your tapping a cheep crash. Not a real ride. But it's an OK crash. Not great. This would be great for beginners. But I'm not a beginner any more and I don't like using these craps.Get Sabian. It's the way to go!!!

Ok, i owned this cymbal for almost 3 years before it cracked (just a few months ago). I've played in punk and hardcore bands for the past few years so i beat the hell out of my cymbals, and this one lasted for that long. this cymbal was even owned prior to me buying it, and the guy had owned it for almost 9 months. he didn't play extremely hard but still... if i can find a cymbal that last ME 3 years and doesn't break, i think i've found a pretty good cymbal.

I got this cymbal in the ZBT 3 pack whn I first got my drumset. It has the worst crash overtones when you try and use it as a ride and sounds like hitting the edge of a ride when you try and crash it. Undefined, slow decay, but, it's still only $**. If you are really working on a budget I would pick the sabian B8 crash/ride because it sucks, but it sucks less than this thing.

I bought this cymbal when I first got started from a zbt pack. I think it can sometimes be too loud, and just doesnt fit in with the rest of my cymbals. I dont really like it, but the bell is sick... I would recommend it for begginers with little experience as a ride, and for more experience as a side crash.

It's a good cymbal to have. I own a couple other A custom crashes too and the ZBT crash/ride is just a cymbal for deep sounding, and the sound goes right through a guitar, yeah you might have to hit it hard for a crash sound but It's overall a very good cymbal to have on one side of your kit.

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Crash Ride Cymbal:

Not great, but for a beginner, it's a perfect ride. Not so much as a crash though. If you use it as a crash, it just basically sounds like your hitting a normal ride cymabl, which of course sounds like crap. But just as a ride, it's pretty good, especially for the price. If you can afford a better one, go for it, but if you're a beginner on a budget, this one's really good.
