has its purpose

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Crash Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal is near perfect for my setup. I've used a ZHT 20? flat ride for a few years. I needed a good size bell and the ZHT 18? crash/ride does though I would never use a crash/ride otherwise. The crash is responsive and perfect when a darker crash sound is needed. The same goes for the cymbal as a ride. When a dirtier, darker sound is needed for emphasis or variety this cymbal serves the purpose. The ride has little stick definition but it is not a dedicated ride. It is almost all dirty wash. I would only use this cymbal along with another single purpose ride. I could not imagine using it by itself, not even as a crash. It's a specialty cymbal in my set up. I use its bell and darker crash way more than it as a ride.

GREAT!

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Crash Ride Cymbal:

I've had this cymbal for a few months now and I am VERY satisfied with it! It is very well priced and very versitile. I love the sound when it's crashed! In my opinion it could match up with the professional quality cymbals. It also rides pretty well. The ZHT series is the way to go if you're on a budget and are serious about drumming. Don't be fooled by the ZBT's low price...IT'S NOT WORTH IT! Buy this one!

Zildjian Quality

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Crash Ride Cymbal:

With some well practiced dynamics you can pretty much replace 3 or 4 cymbals with just this one.
After 5 years of "retirement" from drumming I decided I wanted a small SIMPLE kit and this fits in perfect with the Pearl R/T's.
I just added the 18" ZHT cymbal to my Pearl R/T kit to replace the 16" Pearl cymbal that came with the kit. I have drummed on numerous kits over the past 40 years and always played Zildjian A series cymbals. This is one of the most crisp and "lively" cymbals I've ever played. I have always been a very dynamic drummer (varying volume level) and with this cymbal you have to have that ability. It has incredible sustain but clearly seperates each note played. I generally play with nylon tipped 7A's and by using the shoulder of the stick on the bell can achieve some awesome tones. I pretty much play Texas Swing, Big Band and jazz now days and this cymbal is perfect for all of these styles.
Not sure this baby would hold up well for you heavy hitters but if you play mild to moderate it is awesome as a ride or crash.
For the money you can't beat this deal.

I'm amazed at the difference between the stock hi hat I had, and this hi hat. It sounds awesome. Very very happy with it.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Crash Ride Cymbal:

A good sounding cymbal for a good price. As expected it's a bit of a compromise - used as a crash it's a bit on the dark side, as a ride it tends to build up a little but overall I'm quite pleased with the various sounds you can coax out of this single piece of metal.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Crash Ride Cymbal:

The ZHT crash/Ride sounds good. Not at all like my "A" 18" crash but for the money you can't go wrong. I did notice that it sounds just like my ZHT 18" crash. It does work good for a Ride cymbal just a higher pitched sound than my 20" ride. So if you want to use it for ride and crash get this one. And don't bother with the 18" crash only. Unless you want two that sounds the same. ZHT are ok cymbals if you're on a budget. I'm slowly changing out my cymbals for "A's" or "A customs"
