Bottom line, this cymbal is amazing. In terms of responsive, you can't beat this cymbal. When you crash it there is no weird lag or feel of hitting a brick wall like a larger ZBT. If i were anybody looking into ZBT or ZXT just wait and save for any ZHT. They are bright, fast(like the name says), and could compare to an A or maybe even A custom. For anybody who says bad about this cymbal they are completely wrong i couldn't say one bad thing. i hit hard and have had this cymbal almost a year and not even a minor dent and i play almost every day. In the studio this cymbal kicks butt it cuts straight through everything else when and quickly dies away. All in all, i would say this cymbal for the money is the greatest cymbal ive ever played, there is not one thing wrong and everything right don't think twice about another cymbal.

I bought this to take the load off of one of my "A" 15" cymbals that has a crack in it. I currently use a 12" A Custom Splash, a 16" Avedis Medium Thin Crash, a 16" K Dark Custom Crash, a 15" A Custom cymbal (with crack) and now have added this. I read plenty of reviews before purchasing and the masses seemed happy with it.

For my taste, it is too bright, almost tinny and close to a splash cymbal in sound, but not quite. I play classic rock and blues, and this is almost like having a trash crash: something that isn't used excessively (which I don't have, since they sound like garbage can lids to me). It does seem to be pretty good quality, as can be expected with Zildjian.

So, this is a cymbal will be used sparingly here and there, and I wont rely on it as much as the Med-Thin, A Custom and K Dark Crash during a song. I hope that this review has helped any potential buyers.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Fast Crash Cymbal:

Another crafted Zildjian wonder! Attacks fast, with authority, yet sizzles a tad and releases. Exactly what is desired in a fast crash. I also have an 18" ZHT fast crash, and they differ in tone just enough to create pitch diffs in multiple crashes. Love 'em.
Another bomb-proof Zildian cymbal. Been playing off and on for over 25 years, and still have yet to break a cymbal...I have trouble understanding how folks do (breack/crack them). Maybe I'm striking them correctly?
ZHTs are wonderful cymbals for those who want Zildjian sound and quality, yet don't want to shell out a boat-load of coin for the A's or Ks (I have sevel from those lines too, but love the sound of ZHT crashes!).

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Fast Crash Cymbal:

I have a decent ludwig starter set with a Zildjan ZBT 22" ride and 18" crash. The 14" hi-hats are quite good and responsive, but the cymbals are like gongs and heavy. I am not a metal smasher, crisp, tight and ghosty is more my style. I replaced my snare with a used Steve Jordan 13 x 6 with a remo sound control head which brought me to a whole new level. This fast crash which I use as a primary crash (currently) is on that same level. For low price, so, so worth it. Great sustain and responsiveness. Love it

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Fast Crash Cymbal:

Bought the 14" cymbal and was happy with the sound, but when hit, it had a mildly audible overtone that killed the sustain and the "shimmer" of the cymbal's sound. I read that dampening the cymbal some (like with tape or a half of a moongel) it would be solved, but it got worse. not sure what to do. But, I love it, and it is just thin enough to be wailed on, (the way I like to play). Overall good cymbal, and would recommend to a friend.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Fast Crash Cymbal:

I'm a novice drummer. My main instrument is keyboard (all kinds.) I have a basic 5 piece and was looking for an inexpensive light crash. Besides keyboards, I've also engineered and recorded MANY drummers in our studio so I've been exposed to practically every drummer and kit, from a couple hundred to over 5 figures worth of kit. This cymbal is a great value for the price. My "CON" is simply a comment that even when hit as a crash there is a bit too much bell sound in the tone for my tastes to give it 5 stars. A cymbal sound is very subjective and this could certainly be perfect for someone else. As for a clean sound, it is very good. It doesn't sound like a trash can lid for sure ;-). The slight bell sound could turn some people off, but even with that, I still would buy it again.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Fast Crash Cymbal:

I've been playing drums for over 30 years, and I normally wouldn't even consider playing the ZBT, ZXT, ZHT lines, but I got this one for free. My initial impression was, "this might just work." The fast crash is thin and bright...it even looks good. I'm not so sure it compares to an A or K, but the brightness and cutting power can definitely be used in certain situations. I have it paired with a Sabian AA Thin crash, and they compliment each other nicely (I like the Thin crash better, though). The ZHT still has a gong-ish, dark overtone in the background of its brightness. I don't evern know how that happens - bright with dark overtone...strange. It dissipates quickly, but I'd rather not have that altogether. If you need a bright crash on a tight budget, it's worth looking into, but I wouldn't rely on it as my primary go-to crash.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Fast Crash Cymbal:

While I wouldn't use it as my sole light crash, it ads a nice color, almost like a bright ride. I keep it next to my full 20" ride for more options, when the regular ride is too dark for the room.
