Killer for jazz!
The Zildjian ZHT Flat Ride is an 20" cymbal with no bell. It produces an extremely dry, tight, and controlled stick sound.
For their ZHT series Zildjian chose Ultimate Sheet Bronze, an alloy with a higher tin content for enhanced low- and mid-frequencies. This extraordinarily musical metal is combined with ultra-modern manufacturing techniques and extensive hammering to create value-priced cymbals with sounds that are both modern and traditional.

This is a pretty cool cymbal. I don't have much use for it because I use the bell a lot, but the sound is very crisp and clear. One of the brightest sounding rides on the market.
This is a great ride! I got this ride on sale and man was it a steal. It has great stick definition and this really nice zing to it that gives it a real UFO feel to it. This ride is best for jazz though or some softer rock.
I've been using the 20? ZHT flat ride for a few years. I bought it for the jazz I intended to and now play. I settled on ZHT's because they are sheet and durable. They bend but don't crack like cast cymbals. This cymbals has excellent stick definition and the wash kind of sizzles and decays almost instantly. My 18 year old son got to love the sound when I was playing cover to top 40 hits. Knowing that it was without a bell I planned and bought an 18? ZHT crash/ride for the wonderful large enough bell and nice, dark crash. Sometimes I even use it as a dirty ride. You can ping the sweet 20? flat ride. It is musical. I really like it but would still rather have a K.
.......but this ride cymbal is! I picked up one of these at a local music store that was going out of business. Well, flat rides are flat rides, and they are designed to give a tight, dry and defined stick sound, all while limiting overtones. This ride is definitley all that, and it has that trademark "click" sound that flat rides are famous for, although the click on this cymbal is a little less pronounced than on other flat rides I have heard/played/owned. It has a very pleasing tone. This cymbal reminds me a lot of a Paiste Signature Flat Ride. It is brighter than a normal flat ride, but as it decays (when you stop playing it) the dry click turns into a glassy like tone as it fades away. It is definitley on the bright side (no pun intended), but it isn't as high pitched as you would think. All in all, I am very happy with it, especially for the price. If you dig flat rides, or have been wanting to try one out, I recommend it!
Sweet, dry sound, perfect for jazz or acoustic situations. A very quiet cymbal, but the sound is amazing. I bought this for my college kit, and it's great. It's very hard to find a flat ride for under $300. This one is the best, you won't regret it.
