This truly is an excellent all-purpose ride cymbal! I picked one up because of the price (even though I have many other rides) and I am very pleased! Most Medium Rides sound lame and generic, even on high end models. This one is anything but! I would say this is definitley on the heavier side of Medium. I would classify it as medium-heavy. It sounds like a rock ride would (nice and strong bell, bright ping, clean stick definition), but it's easier to control and more musical than a rock ride. In the store, it reminded me a lot of an A. Zildjian Ping Ride, with just a little bit more "bite" and "oomph". When I got it home, I compared it side by side with my K. Custom Ride, and they sounded nearly identical! I tried out 3 of these at the store, and I would say they were all medium heavy, so I don't think I just got a heavier than normal one. A very versatile ride cymbal at a bargain price! What more could you want. Nab this one!

i originally bought this cymbal because i needed an inexpensive ride cymbal so keep me going until i had the money to buy the one i wanted. but after about a week of playing this cymbal i grew to love it. it has a very clean and powerful bell sound on it. which means that you wont need a zilbel if you buy this ride. a great cymbal

the best ride none to man!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in a band name screw sober and this ride is the bomb. i play heavy metal, and screamo and i use loud cymbals to cut through my loud playing. i got the older version of this cymbal and its 2 years old and not a single scratch or dent on it! i use it more than my alpha series slipknot metal ride. if you set it low to the ground or at a steep angle , you can hit it with the side of your stick and it brings out a huge wall of sound that you can hear over our 35" speakers!! but this the best ride ever on the face of the world!!!!!!!!!!

            Pretty Good Cymbal

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Medium Ride Cymbal:

This is a pretty good ride. Especially for the price. This ride gives you a nice clean ping and a pretty good crash sound. It rings out a little too much and it builds this overtone but it's not too bad. Good bell, it's pretty loud and big. Nice ride altogether.

            Lack Cash? Get this.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Medium Ride Cymbal:

I recently put together a kit and spent a few hours researching cymbals. My critera for a ride cymbal were: under $200, crashable, and washy with some stick definition. The Zildjian ZHT medium ride works for me. I can get 3 different sounds out of this cymbal but I have to be super careful about techniqe if I want to use it for anything other than a crash. I can get a woody sticking sound with mid wash when I tap the top about 4 inches from the edge. I can get a solid, suspended-cymbal-like wash out of it if I use controlled, angled strokes on the edge. And I can get a brain numbing, slightly ringy, full crash out of it if I whack it with any force whatsoever. For the money, this cymbal is excellent if you play it with finess. I'd especially reccommend it if you wash and crash your rides.

            A Nice, Good, Cheap Cymbal!

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Medium Ride Cymbal:

I have owned this cymbal for about 2 months now and iam satisfied with it. When I first put this thing on my boom stand and played. MAN WAS IT LOUD. But after a good week of playing the sound decreased. But not only that it took for ever to decay. And it leaves stick marks fairly quick. But after a good month of playing it. I came to relize I bought a good ass cymbal compared to other ones. EXPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE. After reading my review dont feel like buying it because after a good week this baby sounds just as good as a A Custom.

            Should be muffled

            By Sebastian G

            from Washington DC

Comments about Zildjian ZHT Medium Ride Cymbal:

When I first got this cymbal, I was a little disappointed because of how LOUD it sounded, and how long it took to decay. The bell was too quiet compared to the body, and the stick definition was terrible; you couldn't tell if I was hitting eighth notes or rolling on it. Fortunately, a simple, yet much overlooked way to "muffle" cymbals is by simply putting some duct tape on the bottom. I put two small squares of duct tape on the outter edges and it sounded just as good as any A or K model.: P
