      Quick, colorful splash sounds!

ZHT Splashes create pleasingly quick splash and crash sounds that integrate well with any cymbal setup.

For their ZHT series Zildjian chose Ultimate Sheet Bronze, an alloy with a higher tin content for enhanced low- and mid-frequencies. This extraordinarily musical metal is combined with ultra-modern manufacturing techniques and extensive hammering to create value-priced cymbals with sounds that are both modern and traditional.

To start off, if you are a metal drummer, do not buy a ZHT splash. They are too thin and will break easily. This cymbal is not a bad cymbal because if you swing your sticks at it as hard as you can it will break..However, for the price, this is the BEST sounding splash you will find. When mixed with the other accent cymbals (played lightly mind you) they sound very nice. Again, these are not heavy cymbals. If you want a good metal drummer's splash look for something heavier.

Overall a pretty good cymbal for the price and it lasted me for what I needed it for. But I am at the point now where I can buy the good stuff like the A's A Customs K's and such So I don't care about the ZHT anymore but I still have it carck and all just in case I need a trashy splash sound in my mix.
I would definitely suggest the A 10 or 12 inch splash.
For a starter splash doesn't sound too bad kinda trashy, bright colors.
Paper Thin... I cracked it after a period of 3 or 4 months not playing every day even! Usually 3 or 4 times a week I would play for a half hour to an hour. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TRY TO CRASH RIDE THIS CYMBAL!!! And do not get over zealous when playing rock because it will crack like mine in the middle between the edge and the bell.
If you want a good splash sound don't buy it... if you don't care still dont buy it... not whorth it if you want it to last

Thin and Splashy, but VERY BRIGHT!

      By Winged Wheel Watcher

      from Ann Arbor, MI

      Comments about Zildjian ZHT Splash:

Overall, it's not bad. It is paper thin (much thinner than ZBT or ZXT splashes), and has a nice quick attack. I would certainly say that it's a one-dimensional cymbal (really super bright, almost brittle high end), and it's not quite as loud or "full" sounding as some other splashes. It is super bright and tinny! If you like high end (and other ZHT's-they all sound ultra high end and a bit brittle to my ears), you'll like this cymbal. If you prefer darker or warmer tones, then this (and ZHT's in general) are not for you. Tip: If you are cracking or denting splashes loosen the cymbal stand wingnut so the cymbal has a chance to move and "breathe"! This will solve 99% of breakage issues.

      Cracks

      By JarrettPARKER

      from Florence, SC

      Comments about Zildjian ZHT Splash:

I got the 8" and after a few months it started to crack, at first it was just a few tiny cracks but about a month later the cracks are huge. It's a pretty good splash.. until it cracks all up. It doesn't sound nearly as good anymore as it used to. It's not worth it, find something else.

      Very, very bright...awesome cymbal.

      By Andy H-P.

      from Upstate, NY

      Comments about Zildjian ZHT Splash:

This is by far THE best cymbal you can get for the price...It is extremely bright, piercing, musical, and sturdy. I've had this thing for over 2 years and it still sounds new and has no cracks or dents. Zildjian's done it again...get this cymbal, you won't be disappointed.

      Way better than paiste 5!

      By hotsizzle

      from boulder colorado

      Comments about Zildjian ZHT Splash:

I had this one before I got my 10" paiste 5 but I wanted to have an all matching set so I got the pst5 splash. I had it on for awhile and it just sounded way too flat and dull. This ZHT beat the heck out of my paiste 5 and Im never trying to replace it ever again.

      Better with age

      By Lux Lucris Talos

      from Goodrich, MI

      Comments about Zildjian ZHT Splash:

This cymbal is one that gets a better sound after the first couple of months. I hit pretty hard and it stands up to it. Besides some denting on the edges, I've had no problems with it.

      It's ok

      By Zaegan

      from Godfrey, IL

      Comments about Zildjian ZHT Splash:

It sounds pretty good in my opinion, but it's too quiet. It's also as thin as paper, and every time I get done with a song, I see a huge dent in it and I have to pop it out. I guess if you hit it really soft it's ok, but it's too thin and weak for anything other than jazz or soft rock. The zbt is way better and costs about 2/3 of what this one does. I wouldn't buy it.

      Good Deal

      By Lux Lucris Talos

      from Goodrich, MI

      Comments about Zildjian ZHT Splash:

This cymbal started off a little tinny, yet as i played it for longer and it began to get a little dented up it actually sounded better. Makes a good cymbal for short bursts and added cymbal in rolls.

I am very pleased with all of my ZHT crashes. I love the sound and durability of the tiny splash. It really sounds great, and I recommend getting one of every size.
