this ride came with a set i bought. have been using it for several months and actually did some tracking with it at the studio. for the price, its definately a decent cymbal. much clearer than expected for a ride at the price! loud and washy when crashed on. one thing, the bell SUCKS. i just threw a zil-bel on there and its fine tho. if you have limited fundage to work with, go ahead and pick this one up. definately worth the extra couple bucks over the ZBT, which is total garbage. one last note, you get what you pay for ESPECIALLY with musical equipment. just cuz it says zildjian on it doesnt mean its a professional quality cymbal. if you're looking to get something solid to stick with for a long time, spend the extra cash and look into some higher grade zildjians, a sabian, or a paiste 2002. however, short on cash? order it.

We have this on my school's drumset. It is a HORRIBLE CRASH!!!! After about 10 seconds, the cymbal starts to build a nasty overtone that drives me to run my face into the wall over and over again. Not bad when covered up by the rest of the band, needs dampening.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

This is the best ride i have ever bought. It is very heavy (good thing), and has the exact sound that a ride should have, and is very durable. If i replace my ride ill probably buy this exact same one.
Has a great bell on it.
Very durable, and sounds great.

Not a bad cymbal

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

I've had this cymbal for about four or five months now and it sounds great. It has a nice "ping" sound to it, and sounds good with just about any type of music I've played it with. My two biggest complaints with it, however, are the long decay time and that the bell doesn't sound great. The decay time is way, way too long, I had to put duct tape on my cymbal to deaden the decay a bit and I'm still not completely satisfied with it. Despite this though it's a good cymbal, especially for it's price.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

This ride is real nice, except like everybody says it has a huge overring. And don't crash it. Is not good for crashing. Its also pretty heavy so don't put it on a cheap stand. Overall really sounds good for keeping the beat. Bell is real good.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal is pretty nice for its price. It's a lot better then the zbt ride that came with my set. Honestly I love the sound of this, as soon as I brought it home and set it up I loved it. The bell pierces through everything and it has a nice tone to it.

This is the best ride I have ever had. Only one piece of advice, if you crash your rides, don't get this.

Decent ride, especially for the $

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

Well, I wasn't expecting much from such an inexpensive ride... but it's pretty good, actually. It has good stick definition, a "light ride" tone, and a decent bell. It's much drier than the ZBT rides (which I also like for their pitch and jazzy washiness). Actually, is kind of like a younger brother to an A series Ping Ride. It has that pinginess to it, but it's decay isn't as good as a Ping Ride, so it chimes a bit sometimes. But all in all, it wouldn't be a bad choice for a rock or funk player who needs her/his ride to cut through..

Okay for buyers on a budget but..

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

i bought this in april this year and in november last month it cracked. Although i do play hard (my band used to be metal but is now punk) the reviews are misleading. Yes it is a very heavy cymbal but it will not stand up to a beating. And i also despise the bell I have an A Rezo crash and this sounds like a pearl cymbals' bell compared to that. I am upgrading to a Rezo Ride.

Alright Ride

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

For starters, i think the bell sounds horrible and has terrible overtones period. As far as durability goes, not so great as well. It cracked within probably about 6 months, which was surprising because it's so heavy and thick, i've played with way thinner cymbals that never did crack on me and i play hard. The normal ping sound it gives out really isn't bad and if you smash into the ride like a crash i dont think it sounds bad either, which is mostly what i use it for.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Medium Ride Cymbal:

I guess this would be a better jazz ride, but unfortunately, that's not my bag, baby!! it's not as "ping-ey" as I would like, but the bell is great, which is the only reason for the slightly higher overall. ZLIDJIAN RULES!!
