I have used A customs for the past 5 years and when these came out I didn't expect much but just a step above the ZBT's, but they are much more than that. I sold my A's and now use my ZXT's on my DW for touring. I used to switch on/off between those and my starclassic with K's, but the ZXT's just work the best! Peace!
i have these cymbals and they have the best sound compared to my old pair of cymbals. I say its a good buy.
These cymbals are pretty nice for the price. They definately aren't as good as A's or K's but if you're tight on cash and need a good set of cymbals these are the ones. They can really take a beating. The only problem I have, is I can't use cymbal shine because they are of the titanium series. Window cleaner makes them look ok, but there is nothing like a freshly polished cymbal.
I bought this set last month and I have to say I'm very pleased with them. Of course they don't compare to A's or Z's, but for the price you can't go wrong. Actually, I owned a set of ZXT Titanium before this set. I had to sell those to pay some bills off...and by the time I had enough money to buy new cymbals ZXT Titaniums were no longer being manufactured. So, I decided to get the regular ZXT's...and to tell you the truth, the regular ZXT sound way better than the ZXT Titaniums (the titaniums had more of a ring to them). I recommend this set to anyone looking to get great cymbals on a tight budget...way better than Sabian B's. If you are panning on buying the ZBT's, do your self a favor and spend the extra 50 bucks...you won't regret it!
I got this cymbal pack off of eBay for my birthday. I really love these cymbals. The crashes are the best part. When I bought this pack, in addition to the free 18 in. medium-thin crash, I also received a mail-in-coupon for a free 14 in. medium-thin crash! I should be receiving that soon. The down sides of this pack are the hi-hats and the ride. The hi-hats don't sound so great unless they are 100% closed (really tight). The ride's bell doesn't have a nice sound either. But the ride is okay, but rings about for about 10 seconds after you hit it. But overall, a solid cymbal pack.
I recived these Cymbals this Christmas. And what an Amazing Deal. The Hi-Hats have a very tight, chick sound. The 14' Crash is very loud and explosive. The 16' Crash is my favorite, Very Focused and Penetrating. The 18' Crash is SomeWhat Dark, Yet Warm. The 20' Ride has a amazing song, suddle yet bright, The Bell is o.k, Could be better, but is still very nice. This pack is a perfect starter package, and has everything you need to rock out!
These are some of the best you can buy for the money! The 14in crash has just the right amount of volume and cut right thru the rest of the band and the hats have a perfect "chink"and the ride has a great bell,i would recommend these to any one of any skill level.
In comparison, these are *much* nicer sounding than the Sabian B's, and worth getting instead of the ZBT's. The hi hats are excellent and pretty responsive, with a very acceptable chick. The crashes are surprisingly good for this price point, with the 16 probably being the highlight. In my opinion, the ride cymbal knocks this set down from a 5-rating down to a 4. I found it very harsh on the ears. The bell just might cause your ears to bleed. My recommendation is to buy this set for the excellent hats and crashes and then take the ride into your local dealer and trade it in for credit towards something more playable.
I got these cymbals about 4 years ago, my ride is still working really good, my bottom hi-hat broke, and my crash got a major crack so I replaced it with a a new one and then new one broke too, but hey, they lasted a good 4 years with me, its a good price and the sounds quality is really good, the quality of my ride sounds really good now it really projects the sound, I can't wait to get the money to buy this pack again.Honestly you cant go wrong with zyldjian, exept the zbts, I hate those cymbals
I have owned and played excessivly these ZXT cymbals. I have an amber colored Ludwig Accent Kit. These cymbals are a very attractive accessory as well as a very functional part of the kit. I like all except the ride has some wierd overtones, I tried to dampen it without success, that knocked the rating to a 4.5. I saved the money and replaced it with a 21inch "Sweet Ride". The hi-hats are pretty good. If your not a pro, spend the dough and get'em before they are gone!
