I have gone through many cymbals and yes I have gone through Zildjian ZXT Cymbals. I used to have a whole setup of them, I had the China, the Ride, 16" and 18" crash. They all broke. not complaining, cause they lasted me some months and they did sound great. My advice to any drummer out there: If you buy budget cymbals or any cymbals, keep them clean, a dirty cymbal is usually the cause of cracks. ZXT's are good if you're on a budget, just take care of them. I would suggest a K Custom Dark ride, great cymbal, great sound with a long life, as long as you keep it clean. and for crashes I would suggest the A series.

I cant judge it right now couse i JUST got my drums with these cymbals and everytime i play it, i can swear that it hears like a ride, i'm not shure if i have to hit it stronger or whatever but i hate that sound when i hit something as a crash and sounds like ride (if there's a technique or something please tell me couse these cymbals are preety expensive)

                Great Cymbal! But...

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Crash Cymbal:

My friend has these cymbals. He had no idea that i have a 16" medium-thin ZXT, and he just bought them because he thought it was a good deal. And it is. I personally can't stand them though. You crash the thing for Metal and your ears ring out for the rest of the day. Its super thick, so it'll last for a while, but its REALLY high pitched. I guess it does have a dark tone, but its so high pitched that it hurts my ears. They sound fake on recording because they are so bright. The medium-thin is darker, and has a trashier sound to it. I wouldn't let another friend buy these because i didn't like them. He bought the Medium-thin and love's it! Some people might like the Bright tone, but i really don't. Great cymbals, but i don't like them being so bright.

I used the 18" for about a year, I used it for my deeper crash. It was great for heavier music do to it had a lower tone then many of my other cymbals. I loved this cymbal, mine cracked recently and i plan to replace it with the same one. Great Cymbal worth the money

Whether you get the 16" rock crash or the 18" rock crash youre getting a great cymbal. I got the ZXT rock Cymbal set about 1 month ago and love the crashes. The 18" is loud, rings for a while, but is nice and graunchy, just the way i like it. The 16" is melo but has a kick to it, perfect for alternative drummeres. overall either cymbal is a great deal.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Crash Cymbal:

It's pretty tough, but probably too tough. It sustains quite a bit for recording but just fine for live crowd. The low overtones make it not practicle for the studio due to lower bass registers not easily equalized with even some of the best studio equipment to offer. But besides that it's pretty durable saying I've had it for right around three years. Not a single dent or crack yet!

I got this crash last year for christmas to replace my stock crash. it projects nice and has a nice bright tone, but the what i didn't like was that it broke less than a year after buying it. I do hit hard though, so i think i'll get a zht or z custom crash. good cymbal, good price!!!

I have the 16in and it is the toughest cymbal I ever had. The only bad thing is it's really low pitched, like a 18 inch ride. The bell sounds good too.

This is a good cymbal if you are either a beggining drummer or need one that is cheap and reliable. This cymbal has an ok sound but is definitly not worth buying if you are experienced or wanting to record with it.
